The reason to buy new is so that you have a dependable vehicle, well, I guess some think they're impressing the neighbors...back in 75 I traded a Fiat 128 for a Fiat 131 at Tink's Auto Mart, six months later I was wishing for my old Fiat back. In 78 I traded the Fiat 131 for a Plymouth Fury from Cox Motors, they had it more than I did the first couple months, I did retain possession of the payment book! I'm betting that most us could write a few pages of negative auto experiences, this law was way over due. Domestic auto makers lost interest in making dependable vehicles long ago and now have alot of ground to make up if they're ever going to catch up to the imports.

Good Job. We all owe this women a heart felt "Thank You".
I remember when I purchased my very first new car. It was a 90's something Chevy Malibu. What a waste of money time and sanity. I had ALWAYS owned a Chevy or Buick and was trying to stay true to that.
I now own a Honda. I will never ever purchase another Chevy. Breaks my heart.

GM explains it all. They some how got it in their minds that everyone would buy a vehicle then spend more then the cars worth to maintain it after only 36,000 miles. GM did not want to work with her since 9 out of 10 cars they make will qualify as a lemon

There needs to be one more change before Henry signs this - If a vehicle is labeled as a "lemon", it should NOT EVER be re-sold to another unsuspecting customer, who will then give the automaker MORE money to try and fix the SAME problem!

This is a good thing for the customer but they need to also release information to private repair shops as well. The way it is now a private shop can go and purcahse parts from the dealer but they dont tell you that some stuff needs to be programed and they want you to bring it in to the dealer to do the 3 minute job. They want to get you into the dealer nothing more this is why I left working for dealerships they are taking advantage of the customers. Another thing they do is when you bring a vehicle in for warranty they dont use original dealer parts they use Autozone,Oreilly, and others and then charge you the original dealer part price! So now you have a new vehicle with aftermarket parts! this would be fin, but dont charge the customer twice the price!!

Now we know why General Motors is filing bankrupcy and I cant think of a better company. We have all sued car companies for the same problem. Why dident she sue those people and make them take back the car.

Henry will probably decide to let the automakers off the hook, too, like he does with sex offenders, and the bill will never get signed into law...
