Any good/bad comments on the Winsdor Ridge community and the HOA? Do not want a Byers Station mentality. I suppose now, at Byers, there will be no Halloween or Christmas decorations - might offend someone.

So what types of restrictions do you have with - extending your deck or building a patio in your grass area, anybody know?

We've been living here 5 years and really like it. The pool never gets crowded. Some days, it's like having the whole place to yourself. The gym has nice equipment and, again, never crowded. I've never had to wait for a machine. You're right about the re-sales; there are a few. I'm not sure what others' motives are, but we're ready to downsize & retire. If you're interested in a single-family home, send me your email address and I'll give you the details about our house.(It's not on the market yet.) My email address is mbogdash@comcast.net

Why are there so many re-sales in Windsor Ridge?

There has to be a reason.

I'm new to townhouse living and I trusted our real estate agent and bought in Windsor Ridge. I have an under sized cooling system and the HOV is worthless. They provide a buffer to the board. I didn't think I'd have to trim my own shrubs after paying $125/mo. Boy was I wrong. I trimmed the shrubs, put the trimmings out for the trash and they sit there two days later. As far as I'm concerned they can sit there until hell freezes over

Yes, many many Indians (and no, I don't mean Dancing with the Wolves) and the worst association and idiotic board members. Ppl get sick of politics within a year and move when they figure things out.

I want to apologize for the unacceptable comments that have been posted by others. Most of the people in this community are kind & wonderful neighbors. Please don't judge the whole community by a few ignorant racists. I've lived in many communities & this Home Owners Assoc is no different from any other. Yes, they have their rules. But they are reasonable.

I find it is a nice neighborhood, not perfect, but one of the better ones around. There are some people like Steve who move in without doing any research as to what they're getting (trusted a real estate agent, really?!), but the documents clearly state what's covered and what you do and don't get. Trash is collected by the town, so I'm not sure why Steve blames the community (maybe it sat for 2 days because the town does weekly pickup?)

We had no issues getting our patio approved, and same goes for all our neighbors. The board seems to do their best to be fair and consistent in applying the rules without going overboard (as I've heard can happen at Byer's station). Plus they are elected by the community at the (sparsely attended) annual board meeting, so people can volunteer and change things rather than just complain, if they want.

Way too many Indians who do not try to assimilate into the community. They can be seen walking around daily dressed for Duawli! They do not take care of their yards/lawns and they look terrible. I guess there are no lawns in Mumbai. Advice: Hire a professional landscaper to take care of your property and stop being so cheap. I spend a few thousand dollars a year on my lawn and have to look at your nasty weeds. Idiots.

Incredibly rude. It's none of your business. If people are kind/helpful neighbors, that's all that you should be concerned about. Isn't that the Christian way?

Well they aren't kind and helpful neighbors when their yards look like the jungles of Vietnam. That is really good for property values.

I have been living in this community for over two years now. It is a beautiful neighborhood. With the houses so close together, families have more opportunities to become friends wth the surrounding neighbors. The pool gets a little crowded here and there.(I am a teenager so I tend to go during "nap time" or dinner for more privacy.) The pool is great for the little kids, they will always have someone to play with. I believe their are more resales because people use these homes as starter homes or they have to move because of their job. Make sure that you buy a home with the better siding--It'll last longer. Everyone's patios/porches look gorgeous! Also, the trails are great for late walks and biking for the kids. Some houses need more work than others, but that's life.

I have been living here for about 5 years and absolutely wish I have never bought here. With the property values going down I feel even more stuck here. The taxes are a bit high for townhome living.
The fees are crazy:
Hoa $125 (not worth it at all)
Refuse $175 quarterly and $350 yearly
Peco $300 est
Taxes$6750
1% income tax.
it keeps going.
Cars parked on the streets outside of units all of the time. Use Driveways or Garages People.
Pool is packed in the summer. The pool area has a childrens sprinklers area that has never worked, never. We never go in the club house cause nothing works. Pool table never has balls, Pinball machine never works. The Club house was robbed last year as well. Broken toys in the kids playroom. The community has events that are okay, nothing to scream about. You have to chip in and pay for them though. With an average of $125 hoa fees per home you would expect something really nice for free. No snow removal on driveways. The kids park is a toddlers park, absolutely nothing for 5+ my kids never want to go to it. People are introverted. Teenagers look bored out of their minds. You are not allowed to put up a small fence if you own a townhome. I can be here all day with cons but the worst one for us having dogs and kids is the tick problem . They are everywhere. The Hoa does not spray at all.

What you are saying may be true, but have you ever tried to make an effort to talk to them about it. Just because there are a handful of people who do that it is not right on your part to be passing such a comment. Please learn to appreciate the cultural differences and adapt and help adapting. I don't know how much you know about Mumbai or even India for that matter, it is high time you start increasing your knowledge about it. The reason being, the world is indeed becoming a global village with people from across the globe ( not just Indians) living together. Believe in diversity and enjoy the beauty it brings along. Please do not put down your culture, education and upbringing by passing such comments. I am hoping what you said will be the last time you ever pass such a comment on any nationality resident. No individual or culture or nation is perfect, we are always working towards perfection, so if you can, help people get there,if not, stay away. Never generalize anything just because of a hand full. To all others, Windsor ridge is a very nice community, safe and secure, and considerably well maintained. There are a large number of Indians, which I agree, may be about 20% of the residents, but I am hoping that it isn't a negating factor for any individual to be moving in. It is important to be open minded no matter where you go.

I live in a single family home in Windsor Ridge for over 2 years with my wife and 2 boys. The neighborhood is wonderful and full of nice people. We could not be happier! Oh yeah, the Indians... I find them friendlier than the average racist "white" American. lol. Mixed culture is great for social, intelligent people. Especially if you have children. I could afford to live elsewhere, but do not plan on moving from this great community!
