Since school starts in September, and you need to purchase supplies a week or two beforehand, what's so strange about marketing 45 days out? Haven't we always started our Christmas season the day after Thanksgiving? News outlets have been running the same re-hashed, boring stories since I was a kid. Someone's always afraid that we're starting one season or another too early.
