Are Dan Ryan homes that bad? Any positive experiences out there?

My fiancee and I are looking to purchase a Dan Ryan SFH in Martinsburg or Charles Town, WV. The homes look great, however I've seen numerous negatives reviews online. As in most companies with many customers, there's bound to be some of these type of experiences, however I have only come across a few positive reviews.
For anyone who bought/lived in/rented a Dan Ryan home, what was your experience? Was it as bad as what many online are suggesting?
Thanks for any info.

I own one and it is ok. It's not the top of the line but then again their prices are average too. The little things I see are some walls are not completely plumb, small issues with the finish of the sheetrock, finish is not always the best but all in all I am not dissatisfied with my home.

My problem is that when there is a problem Dan Ryan refuses to address it unless you take them to court and there is one judge who spends most of his time hearing cases against them. In addition there is a real integrity problem with this company. They built houses in the path of Route 340 and there is no way they didn't know about the planned road -- those homeowners may lose their homes. Someone on the planning commission that approved homes in the path of the highway later went to work for Dan Ryan which raises serious problems with their integrity. I would not buy from them directly and if you buy a resale, demand a good homeowners warranty.
