Article never bothered to point out why the gun lobby wanted it to be that way.

The NRA has an incentive to limit how much the public knows about how guns affect average anonymous people. Science and knowledge can be very powerful. Just ask the tobacco companies.

For an example of an inconvenient truth about guns:

Former Emory University researcher Art Kellermann proved that a GUN KEPT AT HOME was 43 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO BE USED IN DEATH OF A MEMBER OF THE HOUSEHOLD than it was to be used to defend the household from a bad guy.

No it is pretty simple, it is not about public knowlege it is simply that when a government dis arms its populace the first thing they do is get all the guns registered with the government, that is why it is like that.

So you think Art Kellermann's research should determine what your rights are. It is not about what is more likely to happen in your house but whether you have a right to decide what happens in mine. The whole concept of a right as opposed to a privilege is a right does not have to be justified, it just is.

Kellerman's research has been disproved many times since his BOGUS BIASED ONE SIDED data was collected and published.

So, after the bomb goes off, we can save people by identifying the cell phone detonator. Progressively brilliant.
