I have to agree. Why are there "homeless veterans" in the first place? If you want to truly honor them, then show them that honor while they're still living. They signed their lives over to protect this great country, whether they actually had to go to battle or not makes no difference.

This is the best we can do for them?

Glad to see someone is finally admitting there is a problem and steping up to start the ball rolling on fixing it.

So sorry to hear Glendora, California 91741 still has there heads buried in the sand on this matter, infact they are trying to still get rid of and forceably remove all the homeless out of the city limits of Glendora, California 91741.

It is not to little to late ! Refurbish some of the abandoned buildings and give them all a room to call home. Each room should be efficient and practical. When we see a veteran at a corner asking for money,we donate but we also ask for their name. When they say thank you, we say ,"no thank you to you !''Some of us might not like how they look, but they are human. It is sad to see them homeless after they have bravely served our country. How about fund raisers for their survival !

Sad!!! What has America come to that they can't take care of their own. They should be taken care of 101%. They should be given Health care, a home, income, and everything they need to live all on a Golden Platter. Thank you Veterans for serving our country. God Bless You. May you find happiness and shelter in your eternal life because the US failed to provide that for you.

Sad to think that America would rather take care of illegal aliens, terrorists, criminals and third world hell hole despots rather than taking care of it's own U.S. Vets and other legal U.S. citizens.

Absolutely shameful of this government.

MSLSD post # 7, your comment is validation to what is really happening in these " UNITED STATES"{?}There should be a law where the[ JORDAN MISSION and other "non profit"organizations] collecting donations take care of our veterans before anyone else.Just look at the news when Thanksgiving and Christmas giveaways at these organizations come up.Just how many AMERICANS do you see ???These functions should go to the veterans first and then what ever is left can be passed on to others.I think the veterans would appreciate it more anyway !!!!

This is a great program.
I hope other states and counties follow this example.

Everytime I see a Veteran, I make it a point to go up to them and shake their hand and thank them for their service. I am the mother of 2 United States Marines! And the daughter of a United States Marine!

This story literally brought tears to my eyes. I am ashamed that these veterans weren't honored and respected more during their lives. Still, I am thankful that these people gathered together to do something to honor their service to this country, even if it is posthumous. There needs to be more outreach for these men and women who deserve far better for the great sacrifices they make for all of us.

Thats right, take notice when they're dead but ignore them when they're starving in the streets. That's the American way!

Mark, you may be homeless but that is not why the good people of Glendora want you out of town!
