I hope the city has more important things to spend money on than fireworks. It's not like FHCC isn't free to anyone who can walk or park nearby.

Hello.
To all the moms and dads out there that not only plan on traveling out of town with their family this July 4th or any holiday for that matter, but also intend on recording it, then you may want to check out this blog I came across.
It's called VidMe. It's a free site that allows you to upload videos privately to whoever you want. Not sure if it's beneficial to you but my husband's family lives 3,000 miles away and I want to keep video footage of my children off any social networking website as much as I can. As a protective traveling mom, I think it's worth checking out.

The Best Place to go is to the LA Galaxy soccer game on 4th of July! It is a wonderful experience, lots of fun while the Galaxy face the Seattle Sounders in a very good game. The Galaxy are the best team in the MLS and play good technical football (soccer). Its a fun night of soccer and fireworks after the game. Go to lagalaxy.com to get your tickets as Edson Buddle and Landon Donovan are coming back after their world cup journey. US Flags and Trading Cards will be given out @ the entrance! Go Galaxy and hopefully you go to the game!

I live in Unincorporated Whittier. Fireworks have always been legal here as far as i can remember. We don't belong to either La Habra or Whittier(90604)(only by address). I think even we are even listed as La Mirada on google earth for some reason.Well, we dont get services from Either Police depts we have norwalk sheriffs. Our area doesnt have as much hazards to cause fires and always a good show every year.

Just when you thought you had heard the WORST about a deadbeat, over paid California agency or public, political officials:

SUNOL, California. Interstate 680, in and out of the Silicon Valley, is one of the bay area's busiest freeways. And everyday for the last eight and half years there was a hillside mural motorists passed on the Sunol grade.

Until Wednesday, motorists saw a 35 foot mural of the American flag painted on a concrete retaining wall.

On Thursday, it was just gray concrete painted over by Caltrans, the slackers who can't get it tight the first or fifth time they try and do something right.

It was put on the list for graffiti removal and yesterday morning they painted over it with grey concrete paint.

It should not be classified as graffiti. I mean it was a well done flag and and I felt like it's part of America.

About a week after 9-11. Eric Noda was photographed roller painting the flag mural. It took him three hours to finish.

He and friends R.J. Waldron and Thomas Hanley picked the spot to express their patriotism after the terrorist attack.

Regular 680 commuters said they were upset.

I don't know why they would consider it graffiti. We live in America. It should be a patriotic symbol that everybody should enjoy.

As for those fat-headed CalTrans officials, they should be FORCED to repaint the AMERICAN FLAG on their own time and pay for all the supplies out of their own back pockets!

And then FIRED!
