they don't care about the local gas station owners. the commercial actually makes me more mad. how dare they stoop so low as to use the smallest people in the chain. i saw let the BP local gas station owners out from under the BP logo and have them goto a new gas supplier, then i will consider helping the little people. i would be more than happy to buy from the owners that are under BP once they are set free. I call on you BP to do the right thing. Put your money where your mouth is. set them free if you truly care. Are you BP willing to do this?

Spill or no spill, I wouldn't buy from BP regardless. Can't stand the company on many levels... the spill is just one more reason. It is unfortunate for the operators of these stations but it is the bigger picture here. They need to operate under another corporation. That's all there is to it. Can't do that? Well, I'm sorry but that's just the way it is. And keep in mind, it isn't just BP stations that are being banned... it is ANY station that uses BP oil.

Look , if BP cared about the little guy this spill would have been contained by now.Its plain and simple, BP is losing money and they are trying to get your sympathy. They will not get mine. I will not purchase anything from them or anyone BP supplies.

They still distribute for BP. They can change companies and distribute for a company more decent....say CITGO. The American government drove CITGO out by strong-arming 7-11 in several states to stop distribution from CITGO, after a lame attempt from FOX NEWS to have the public boycott CITGO didn't work. Now FOX is trying to help the bad guys...BP. What a criminal circus this country is.

I understand everyone being pissed off at Bp but they also suppy oil to other gas stations that I am sure you buy gas from. This is hurting them but it is also hurting your neighbor who owns the gas station , that live in your neighborhood.I know people will do what they want but this dose hurt our own people in our own neighborhood.Just saying. I am not defending BP in any way beecause this whole thing is BS , but I am just saying.

Most Of the idiots that are on this web site won't know which way is up. You can't hurt the Corporate BP by boycotting the stations. The only way is to get in the main a-hole and shareholders pockets.

CITGO? You do realize that CITGO is a wholly owned subsidary of Venezual and ran by Hugo Chavez. The same government and dictator that today announced they plan to nationalize 11 oil rigs owned by the US firm Helmerich & Payne. The rigs, located in Monagas, Anzoategui and Zulia states, will be taken over by state oil giant Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), the official news agency AVN said.

It doesn't matter what logo is on the sign in front of a gas station, the owners see very little money from the gas they sell. They make their profit from the items inside of the store. So to boycott a station is only hurting the guy that lives next to you and the people in your neighborhood that he employs. If you want to purchase gas elsewhere, that is your option. But don't stop buying your soda, chips, and other items from inside.

Now let me see if I understand this correctly, one article states that St Louis has had 15 million gallons of raw sewage leaked into the Mississippi River and another town is boycotting BP and is hurting local businesses. I think I'd be more concerned over 15m gallons of raw sewage than any issues with BP.

If it reads BP on your gas station sign, then YOU DO HAVE AN AFFILIATION with BP!

I'm sticking with QT, not that somewhere down the line one of the refineries that they purchase gas from doesn't get their crude from BP, but I will not purchase from anyone with a BP sign on it. Sorry if that hurts the station owner. If you want my business get the BP sticker off your building!!!

The only real way to boycott BP is to not drive ever. Or use public transportation or any other services that use oil. Clearly, that's just not an option in our current civilization. Other stations that are not labeled as "BP" buy BP gas so it doesn't matter WHERE we buy gas, we're all still supporting them. When we buy gas we're putting money in "big oil's" pocket.#afactoflife

If you don't buy from BP, then they'll sell their oil/gas to someone you do. You're better off sticking it to the politicians that are (mis)managing this disaster. Vote them out and send them a message that we won't stand for their BS.

That's putting the old noodle to work there, Willie. First class logic you're displaying. So you don't have a problem buying BP's product, just as long as thier sign is not on the building. Yep, you're really making a statement there. I only hope that you are not employed in a field in which others depend on your decision making ability.

UNREAL: I would prefer them to not sit back and let a company control a disaster of this scale. I say fix it, then send BP the bill. I would prefer something be done (tax dollars or not) rather than everyone pointing fingers and hoping it just goes away.

Do you really think that this goverment has the know how or the equipment to fix this? I doubt that they have a person that is smart enough to even begin to know what to do. We are at the mercy of this company. Also if they (U.S. Goverment) did fix it they don't have any leverage to force BP to pay.
