Are there non poisonous rattlesnake's? Maybe the Slantinel knows more about herpetology than we thought.

Rattlesnakes are venomous, not poisonous. More stellar Slantinel reporting!

I have read that most snake bites are alcohol related. No kidding.

You are right. There are more snakes out this year than I would expect. Especially the babies. And for the first time, I found two rattlesnake 'skins' in my yard and they don't usually make it this far. All I can say is keep your eyes open and carry a big stick or a Mossberg.

Hey Chet:

Loved your post. Aren't you glad you don't live in Austrialia. They have 'brown snakes' that attack just for the fun of it. And they keep biting until they are through, not you.

Yes, one lept from my dresser onto my bed and slapped the flashlight from my hand.

Lucky for you the Central Florida Gun Show is at the Central Florida Fairgrounds this weekend. They had some nice derringers at the May show.
And you can get a deep fried turkey leg too.
