GM bought the plant, from what I hear they are expanding and the employees can expect more money. SHould be a great place to work or find work now if obama doesnt shut the coal industry down

GE has supposedly bought them out, going to take over next month. But, what has Marleen Fairchild, been up to, since the takeover began? Planned a meeting, with the employees, to ease tensions...Took them longer to set up the chairs, than the meeting acutally lasted. Since, talk began last month...She has fired and laid off many. Has had more "random," drug tests, than ever before. Heard, they all passed...So, they won't be "randomly," losing their jobs, for now. Just the other day, had Police doing searches, in everyone's personal belongings, including lunchboxes. Looks to me, they are "looking," for reason's to fire people...So, they don't have to pay the "high-ended," wages & will not have to pay unemployment. Truth is...She is getting rid of her employees, long before Obama will have a chance!!!

Are you sure you know what you are talking about, they won't be paying the high end wages that will be GE, Murleen I have heard is retiring, and how many has she fired, I heard lay-offs and she or the plant have already paid into unemployment it doesn't come from them after they are laid off it comes from the VEC and its based on wages made into the quarters and I think they go back 8 quarters to start paying, they can draw at the very least 26 weeks, all the extensions have been canceled for about a year now, and as far as beating Obama to the punch, I doubt that as well. They don't work that way. But, it is refreshing to see how much you know about business.

Not sure I think they come in on a temp service for 90 and they go to the payroll if they make it through the probation.
