Curious that this fire is not on InciWeb; only Colorado fire incident is Royal Gorge.

infinite wisdom, tried to convince everyone this fire was only two acres, when the sniff test alone told people miles away it was 100 times bigger at least, probably 1000 times bigger by now. Start cranking out the excuses about old fuel and inaccessibility, Kyle

To restate the obvious, this fire could have been put out when it was only two acres by using one helicopter. As always, the park waits till the fire becomes huge and then they can't put it out for weeks. What happened to the additional aircraft that Sen. Udall promised would be purchased and in place this summer to fight northern Colorado fires?? People need to get off their ass and go after our beloved Congressional Representatives. Why are we going in debt to maintain "control" over Iraq and Afghanistan when our homes and valuables burn to the ground here? We need a major regime change at the local and federal level now!!

let's see - the fire on the west slope, burning up to timberline (a natural fire break), the fire is a natural occurrence (lightning strike), burning through stands of beetle-killed timber, no homes or private property or valuables threatened.

And you arm chair 'experts' want to spend money and endanger fire personnel to put it out just WHY exactly?

Let it burn all the trees up. Spend zero money on fighting it, just spend money on the Public Information Officer telling everyone to be calm. Let it burn until they have to evacuate Grand Lake, like they hurriedly had to evacuate half of Estes Park last year once it got out of control. Who is sitting in their armchair and who is preparing to load that armchair into their evacuation vehicle?
