WOOOHOOOO!!! Thank you for rejecting it! I havent liked the idea from the beginning-a grand performing arts location doesnt belong in downtown Estes...and really, does it belong anywhere in Estes?? GOOD JOB TRUSTEES!!!

Yea, my faith in mankind has been restored. This piece of garbage should be put out near the manure pile in Stanley Village where it belonged 10 years ago. Go away for good, you people who wanted to turn Estes into something classy. We want to be poor and stupid forever. Throw out the bums while I take some tums.

I'm shocked! The town fathers have more sense than I gave them credit for. It's good to see that they put the better interest of the town ahead of Stan Black and his special interest.

I'm absolutely gobsmacked.....Seems the downtown location idea with the town's complicity has done an,'exit stage left'.

Hurray for the Trustees and common sense!! Estes Park IS NOT the proper venue for a "Performing Arts Center"!! I believe a majority of those of us that live here full time want to see our little "village" remain just THAT. NO big city productions, the Rocky Mountain Opry, presented by BARLEEN FAMILY, Is perfect for this little town! I just wish they still had a dinner theater with the show afterward like they used to present at their first family theater over by highway 7. That was so much fun and they had great food. Definitely something needs to be done with the area on Elkhorn Avenue where the shops burned, but let's figure out something PRACTICAL to do with that area, PLEASE!!

Let's have a Myrna Goff fun park, with circus acts from Branson Miswervy and I love Shoji Tabuchi and also motorcycles. That is practically marvelous and great entertainment for dumbfolks.

EW, you took your nice pill this morning, didn't you?? THAT is not what I said AT ALL!! I don't think Estes Park wants to be Branson and I certainly don't appreciate being included in your "dumb folks" group! But obviously you are " so refined" that you don't appreciate the local talent. Maybe you had better move "back to the city lights."

F. U. I. To anyone reading THE POST ABOVE, I DID NOT POST THAT. I don't know HOW someone did that under MY NAME, but I believe we can figure out who PROBABLY did it (if you check out an earlier post)!! I truly hope they enjoyed making a fool of themselves!!

Are you kidding? We have a moderator on this site now? Praise got and pass the ammunition.

That line I wrote about being drunk off my a@@ and concocting home brew in the toilet using fermented dog urine, that was somehow offensive?

Who know?

Kudos to the trustees for a change. Taking away parking spaces for this thing plus added congestion when the merchants go begging for places for their customers to park when they come to town to shop is madness. Yes, there is the shuttle thingy, but how many want to spend that much time to park at a remote location and wait for the shuttle in both directions just to come downtown for a short shopping trip? Your view may differ, but ask the merchants who are the backbone of the economy for the town what they think. You kill things for them in the interest of trying to turn a relatively quiet village into Broadway on the Big Thompson, and you are driving away a huge part of your tax base.
