Are you kidding me? This town government already receives over $8.3 million a year for 113 employees.....and that's not enough??? It seems no one in this town cares enough to question these trustees. The trustees also receive pay and benefits as well as employees. No one questions them? And this town does its own comparisons, studies, then passes the resolution?? This newspaper should really have an investigatice reporter for these bunch of shysters! But I guess Estes Park people don't really care. The fox is still in charge of these hens!

Nobody cares because 200 people live here year round. We are happily moving out of the dysfunctional town. These trustess are a joke! 2X this year the town and trustess have screwed over the downtown business...they don't care. They think this town is holier than thou...its not!

Straight Shooter and Jeff, did you even read the article to the end? The whole purpose of this is because some of the town employees get paid below the industry standard.
Jeff, I'm assuming your being factious about 200 people living here. Estes Park has a year round population of over 6,000 people, has over 3,000,000 people a year visiting it and 40% of those 3M people never even go to the park. What are the infrastructure cost's of maintaining this town with those kinds of numbers?
Estes Park is the 3rd most visited city in the state of Colorado behind Denver and Colorado Springs. We moved here from from a major metropolitan east coast city two years ago and love our mountain village.

Since you are a newcomer, you obviously do not know how this town & others operate. Last time they gave themselves a pay raise (orchestrated by Town Manager & 4 Supervisors) they got a hell of a pay raise--most going to Supervisors and Assistants. The case they always use is: they compare themselves to others like Vail, Aspen, Parker and once Estes has its pay raise, then other towns point to them for their pay raise. Similar to a dog trying to catch his tail. For a town of 5400,why are assistants (Lowell Richardson) receiving over $120,000? You have 17 people making more than our state govenor. Go to Municipal building and get a copy of all salaries before you speak. Then get involved!

You also forgot to mention; the last time Town Manager Randy Repola proposed that huge pay raise, the Town Board did not give time to its citizens for any comments or disagreements. It was rubber stamped and a done deal!

would have been nice to see in the article - good, some are getting a 4% increase - 4% of what?
I for one have no problem with us paying our employees decent wages.
Jeff - don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out of town!
Adam - I'm glad you like it here, but I hope you pull your head out of the clouds and realize this "mountain village" is a real town with real people, real challenges, real problems.
