Come-on people of Estes!! Don't be dupped!!
You learned as a child if it is "too good to be true it probably is".
Let's not learn this the hard way by allowing it and then regretting it.

Once it's done, you will NEVER be able to turn back. So much of the joy of Estes, whether you live there, or visit, is the rustic charm and village feel. A behemoth such as this will not end up being a good thing. This is a developer who sees an opportunity for his benefit. NOT for Estes. Don't believe the hype.

This would just be a tragedy. Why does the development need to be on Lot 4? Why would anyone pave the beautiful open area in front of the historic Stanley Hotel, ruining beautiful vistas of Longs Peak where countless tourists take pictures each year ? To build on that lot makes no sense. If you have to do it, put it somewhere else.

well i be darned! someone in Estes is getting back to basics and thinking outside of the box!(by back to basics i mean-'Many early visitors came to Estes Park in search of better health. The Rocky Mountain West especially attracted those with pulmonary diseases, and in Estes Park some resorts catered to them, providing staff physicians for their care'). a destination spot that CAN include RMNP, but doesn't HAVE to, AND it will help the shops & restaurants. a win/win situation. it could be fun watching how the town responds. or maybe now is the prime time for a wake up call. and what is wrong with having a tubing hill and a small alpine slide at Elk Horn? you cried during the shut down that without RMNP you had nothing. well, it's time to change that! having more IN town destinations is necessary for your economy. you managed to lose Ski Hidden Valley, so you need to make revenue from within your own town. or not.
