It is great to see the cooperation between the citizens of this beautul area of Colorado and the State of Colorado in getting this highway back up and in condition
to be used once again.
I had moved from Wisconsin in late 1989 and had lived on Old Highway 7, 1284 County Road 84W, about 3 homes east of the Wild Basin Lodge until moving back to my hometown of Fond du lac, Wi in 1994.
I have been keeping up with the news of what has been happening there since moving there and since the flooding, etc., because I still have children and grandchildren living in Colorado.,although they live down in the Longmont and Windsor areas and other than having to travel out of their way to get to work, came thru unscathed by the flooding .
I still have friends that live in Allenspark and Estes Park. I really enjoyed the area while living there and enjoyed the peace and quiet that came with the area. I remember the Hummingbird Cafe and Tammy and George Ackerman and family as I spent some time at the Cafe during the time I had lived in that beautiful area.
