Why confound the issue with street addresses and designations no one in their right mind is familiar with. This was the parking lot for people going to and leaving McDonalds, that wonderful place that people have to get to so quickly because of the Monopoly contest that they drive over everyone to get there.
The Kroc or Crock headquarters in Illinois should be ashamed. This franchise should be de-arched, and everyone should be paid a large settlement for this disaster. Close the place down or relocate it to Pigville USA

This is timely. After what, consulting with the Boulder Daily Camera, the Denver Post, the Visit Estes Park marketing gurus, and McDonald's headquarters, the crack press corps up here finally decided to release nonsense that the local police and public information officer had written? How independent can you get. Everyone on the public dole or being baled out for past bankrupcties and yet the public is left in the dark. Do you for the life of you think you could assign some of your crack staff, instead of bicycing over the Continental Divide each Sunday, to maybe sit by a police scanner and cover the news? There are about 100 people who could have written up this story by noon on Sunday and gotten it online by Sunday afternoon at the latest. But instead, we get a little dab doled out to us and are treated like simpletons for asking if a newspaper can do what it is supposed to and report the news, not regurgitate propaganda doled out by the police department, but actually let us know what is going on in the world around us. Idiots. You should be ashamed of yourselfes.

Shut the f%%k up - you weren't there, this has nothing to do with any corporation, and a family is grieving.

and who wasn't there for the next 36 hours was anyone like a newspaper to point out that this grieving was eminently preventable.

try to spell her name right - I mean, I understand it's not like she was a bear or anything important to Estes Park and all....

car accident in the canyon, 12 hours ago, still waiting on the update. Sadly, no bears or bicycles involved, so coverage will be minimal at best.
Too bad we aren't making any of these tragedies front page news to get the message across that people are driving way too fast both in Estes Park and just outside of Estes Park.
But I guess no news is good news. Hopefully these horrific accidents won't impact people's enjoyment of passing on the solid double yellow or screaming through parking lots to get their McGreedles.
