Overpriced by dispensaries to a criminal level, the mantra rising from the people is "only dopes don't grow their own smoke!."

The vast majority of marijuana sales will continue to be untaxed street transactions. The legalization may put some downward price pressure on the market, but the draconian sales laws and hefty taxes that are being drawn up will make it a difficult go for retail shops. I'm guessing that many of them will realize this too late and end up being forced to do a large amount of their business on the side.

The biggest economic effect of the new laws, though, will be a huge stepping down of law enforcement toward both grows and street sales, making it infinitely easier to sling weed in all tried and true ways that have existed for decades.
