What Lot 4 is really worth

There are 4 comments on the Estes Park Trail-Gazette story from Feb 6, 2014, titled What Lot 4 is really worth. In it, Estes Park Trail-Gazette reports that:

All that voters in this April's election need to ask themselves is whether or not a vacant and unused piece of land immediately adjacent to a shopping center is worth $20,000,000. That's right - $20,000,000. As I have stated in a previous letter, this is the amount of revenue that turning Lot 4 into open space will cost the Community Wellness ... (more)

To Mr. Rosener;
Your pretty good at showering us with figures, but when are you going to support those figures with documented fact? We the people are not stupid.I have seen a list of job listings and salaries for your self touted Anschutz Center, which you have been asked before to clarify and have not to this day made public, of which my friends and I figure that roughly 8 of them can be filled by CURRENT residents of EP. You know, front desk personnel, custodians, ground keepers. A project of this magnitude will have to draw qualified engineers and tradesmen from outside Estes Park. You say no? Who is building the Events Center at the fairgrounds? Not Westover or Kingswood are they?

I have a comment related to the municipal election. It should be EASY for all eligible voters to cast their ballot. The choice to hold a required poll election on this issue is clearly designed to suppress votes. It is specifically directed toward the elderly population that will be prone to vote against the sale of Lot 4. The extra time and effort to complete and submit an absentee ballot application, wait to receive the absentee ballot, then complete and submit it - is NOT an easy process. And there are many elderly voters who will not be physically capable of making the trip to Town Hall to cast their vote in person. This strategy, planned by the Town Board, Town Clerk and EP "elites" in favor of the sale is very troubling and should be brought to the attention of the Colorado Attorney General. This is just not right.

I totally agree with you. Why don't YOU contact the Colorado Attorney General with this issue? You never know what might happen.
You are right

I have yet to see an election in EP that has not been rigged or discredited. From the school board elections (were there ever any consequences for Christine Adams misrepresenting herself?), fire dept. board elections, town elections (wait until you see the "elites" popping out of the woodwork to run for the 3 trustee positions), etc. In this town the needs of the few to maintain self perceived power and control outweigh the needs of the many.
