Board made the right decision

Full story: Estes Park Trail-Gazette

I would like to commend the entire board of trustees of Estes Park for the care with which they dealt with the issue of the Estes Park Performing Arts Center.

First of all Estes Park is not New York City. You have miles and miles of a diverse culture to draw from, which includes millions of people. You have a relentless transportation system. Ep has roughly 6,000 people and three state hwys which can be very trecherous in the winter, and no transportation system. Would you drive thirty miles up a mountain canyon in the winter to see a show? The problem with the Rocky is that EPIC is trying to tell the town what is good for it without asking for public opinion. It's also been turned down three times for various reasons. I think the performing arts are a great idea, but from all the reasons for rejection, not in downtown Estes Park. A lot of people have suggested the fairgrounds, whic was planned once, but for some reason fell thru.
Good luck with your Repertory Theatre.

I hope Estes Park becomes exactly like Broadway and not like Hell's Kitchen. But I do like the idea of having pride parades every spring with a lot of man flesh in all its exuberant unclothedness.

Hooray for performing arts and the complete Mardi Grasification of Estes Park, home of the most progressive former athiests in the world.

the group was given land at the fairgrounds for nothing or next to nothing. They couldn't raise the money in the time that was allotted to them. And this is the fault of the Trustees so they are going to try to recall them??? The trustees represented the MAJORITY of Estes Park constituents that didn't want the theater downtown. And why would they vote and set a precedence for others to come to them asking for other things from the town? Quit stomping your feet, whining and crying---put your big boy and girl panties on and accept defeat!

Daily Horoscope for June 18

Sagittarius

It's a great day for mixing and mingling with people you always get on well with, so try not to keep yourself to yourself too much as that would be a real shame on a day when you're feeling so convivial and friendly. Speaking of friends, you'll enjoy spending time with them now, especially if you share some core values.
