Yes, Now, lets see Ms Bobbie Jo go to prison and fight the system to get her methadone while she is in w/d's. Wonder if the advocates will help this person out? Glad to see you going where you belong Bobbie Jo. Mary

Mary you know better....It was not Bobbie Jo's fault she hit a grandmother and baby while under the influence of methadone and other drugs!!! It's the clinics fault because she was underdosed and because of that she HAD to do other drugs, she has no personal responsibility for what happened because she was only showing signs of her disease as a result of being underdosed(drugged) by the clinic.

We as society should give addicts all the drugs they want/need for them to think they feel "normal" and whatever they do is not their fault because their disease absolves them of all personal responsibility.

now...thats all it take to be a Methadone advocate....advocate giving drugs to addicts and put the blame for their actions on someone else!!!! Where is the logic???? I guess when your on mind altering drugs ...there is very little logic.

I doubt this story will even make it to the pro forums. I feel she is one of many who have close calls. This is a truly sad story. I read somewhere else that she had taken the other drugs the night before, so her inability to drive would have been attributed to her dose, for what it's worth. Not sure about putting too much credibility into what she stated, after her saying that she swerved to miss a truck and then lost control and started hitting stuff, before closing her eyes.

I know Mel. Now, you know why I did not want to do the CMA training in CA. Do these folks really believe it takes alot of training to become a CMA? What was it like, 6 hours and boom, i could become a CMA and add another creditial behind my name. Then again, maybe Harmd needs to become CMA's. Gotta think this one thru. Love, Mary

Not quite sure of exact hours but I know I could have easily walked into their training in CA and became a CMA in one day. It's really not much. I had to have 6000 experience hours, 270 hours of classroom instruction and 320 hours of intern for CSAC in addition to 60 hours of continuing ed every 2 years to keep the certification I now hold. Maybe if all of us who wish for tighter restrictions became CMA's, we could get some things done. Any interested? Love, Mary

You would think that someone would need more than one day's worth of class time to be certified. That's not surprising to me, really, but it's not right either, considering the respect that people get if the put C.M.A. behind their name.

Mike, darling, we already know what they teach, word for word, we hear it all the time and they sound like little robots. Maybe instead of becoming CMA's we can look at starting our own training what advocates should be taught. Any names for our new group?????? Mary

I guess you actually believe everything that's written or reported; there is undoubtedly more to this story, & you're still blaming methadone for the "accident" Grow up

Who ya talking to darling? Do you know how to use the quote thingy? Go tell your crap to the family who lost this grandmother and child. Ive talked with them some and they are no fan of methadone either. Can't believe you would write grow up when this family's child will never have the chance to do just that. Does the methadone really make you that heartless? Mary

Hahahahaha. Yep. There must be more to the story than the person ran off the road and KILLED someone after leaving a methadone clinic. No way that could happen right? Read all the stories about this subject you can locate. They all say the same thing. With quotes. We aren't the ones that have bought into Fantasyland, last I recall it's you and yours.

Perhaps you should become a reporter and delve into this story and find out if there is more to it. Idiot.

You need to GROW UP, everything you post makes no sense at all. Do you even read what you post? You should be embarassed for yourself. Again, you are an idiot.

I don't blame methadone for the accident. The accident was caused by someone getting too much of a drug legally while having a script for benzos. If a person is incapable of driving, then the reason for them being incapable is DEFINATELY taken into account. Sorry that's more than you can comprehend, but that makes it no less true. It's just another death attributed to mmt, and I for one hope that this lady is no longer allowed to know the taste of the drug. In fact, I hope they hang a 55-gallon drum full of methadone in her cell, just about 18 inches out of her reach for the next 30 years.

Rat in a cage with methadone just out of reach. That's good Mike. Can't we at least give her one taste a day for good measure, just to make sure she stays in withdrawal the entire time. Mary

I know I'm sadistic, but I feel that keeping her in withdrawal would take her mind off of what she has chosen to do with her treatment. However, if she is forced to sit there, staring at a barrell of methadone, she will have a constant reminder of what she has done to another family in treating her own problem. Although knowing that she would be in withdrawal the entire time, I would rather her have to actually deal with what she has done. But this is my dream. You can do with her what you will in yours.lol.

I still like the idea of giving her just a little taste, maybe 5 mg or less. Let's wait and see what happens to her after the women in prison hear that she killed a grandmother and a child. Mary
