I love that the police think that drugs were involved. Well on , this guy has a nice long record of drug possession and distribution. I'm not an expert, but they need to piss this guy and I bet they find drugs.

This is such a sad sad story. I know nothing will ever replace this poor man's wife and son or the little boy's mother and brother. I hope they nail this guy. But I imagine that our s***** justice will not punish this guy enough.

Lock him up and throw away the key.
It had to be alcohol or drugs, what else would cause him to drive like a nut!!!!

Very Very Sad!!

Another article reads that the DA is going to let him leave the hospital without charges! No wonder criminals flock to America. THEY'RE PROTECTED HERE!

No charges. Incredible. I'm married with a 4 year old son and a 4 month old daughter. I couldn't imagine this happening. Loosing half my family...God! I guarantee that our justice system will fail us...but I do believe in Karma. This guy will eventually learn that Karma is a bitch and he'll pay in this lifetime or another. I just hope that the father and surviving boy can make it through this physically and mentally. Hopefully they'll never have to go through something so tragic again.

God speed on their recovery.

I read the article again and it said that he won't be jailed when he leaves the hospital with charges pending. This looks like he was doing this on purpose much like the 1st accident. Both were during daylight and both were minivans with kids. He could see who was in those vehicles. Even if he lawyered up it looks like he is a danger to society. People have been held and jailed for much less. Looks like this DA is in fact a DA...DumbAss! I'll bet they could lock me up for saying that. What a backwards world...

I had the exact same thought - a feeling that this guy was trying to off himself. If that's true - he should have picked a tractor trailer instead of minivans loaded w/ kids.

Umm, he was charged w/ manslaughter. And he's not being released from jail. Get your stories straight morons.

He wasn't charged and arrested until this past Friday (so everyone's except "Idiot's) comments are valid. A lot of additional info came out just prior to his being charged and arrested - like that fact that Supoxone (sp?) was found in his 2nd crash vehicle as well numerous bottles found at his home. Supoxone is a treatment for heroin addiction. One of the precautions associated w/ that drug is that you're not supposed to operate a motor vehicle.

Did he have a valid driver's license? Maybe, not that it would help the victims or their families now, but maybe a law manditory suspending/revoking driver's license of persons receiving treatment for such addicitions ie. methadone clinics etc.

Looks like he's been charged with 2 counts of Negligent Manslaughter-Auto/Boat/Other Vehicle he faces $5000 and 10 years, for possession he faces $25,000 and 4 years, and a bunch of little traffic offenses that will probably get thrown out. He's a freakin scumbag who'll get 5 years or something for the death of a Mother and Son.

What gets me is that my husbands old school buddy got 12 years for burglary, they suspended all but 7 years (I understand he violated someone's home, but it wasn't a violent offense or did it lead to the death of two people). Give me a break, it's so sad that he'll get a slap on the wrist.
