Borough officials are stunned that a contractor ripped them off.
LeeZack electric, a well known business man in the town took money from the borough of Glassport and never finished the work.

Does anyone here find it odd that the town gave the contractor any money up front.

If i were to paint inside the boro building, I would not ask for the supplies to be paid first and paint aint cheap these days.

The news article says the contractor is 25 years old. Is that true? There aren't many successful "well known business man" at that age. That is not even enough time in the work force to build a solid reputation. Oh wait, he has a nicely painted business van, that must qualify. That and he wired your drinking buddy's gameroom for a good deal?! Seriously councilors, what did you expect! This is why you solicit bids

Lee has done much work for me in the past and has been practically a child prodigy at electrical wiring. He installed an outdoor lamppost on timer, numerous ceiling fans and electrical boxes and light switches for me. He might be a kid, but he knows his stuff.
Don't diss someone you don't even know.

Fyi anything under 4 thousand does not need a price quote and anything under 9999.00 does not need a bid.

add up all of his electrical jobs. i'll bet the total was well over 10 grand. council thought they were clever by going around the bidding by parceling out the jobs to him. now its going to come back and bite them in the ass cause they probably don't have signed contracts with him.

I was told by a certain councilperson that Mitch was pissed because he was getting no kickback from Lee. He supposedly lined up some jobs for him and Mitch thinks he deserves something in return.

Its funny how there is a ceiling on the list of things not completed if our mayor would pay attention he would see that the ceiling was finished over 6 months ago guess he never looks up.

Its also funny how its said that there was hardly any work done on the cameras down the ballfield. I recall Leezack Being down the ballfield on the lift almost a week installing wiring for them and working down there on several days apparently he did more than almost nothing.

By what i see there needs to be a few more cameras installed but the wiring is all up and run into the building so a good bit more than was stated is finished.

And everyone including the mayor seemed to forget about the fountain Leezack worked there Day and Night to get that Finished on time for the 911 memorial i heard he put in around 200 hours of work for the boro and firehall for exactly $0.00
yep for nothing at all and donated some material as well.

This dosn't sound like someone that wants to rip off the boro mabye someone that got behind on their work but still inteands to finish it if he was to be given more time im sure he would get it done.

I find it hard to believe that a borough would pay Lee in advance 5 times if he wasnt completing jobs! They would have done something after the second time not continue to give him additional jobs. Sounds like the mayor has it out for this kid! Maybe if the mayor would work as hard for the borough as he is damning this kid the town wouldnt be a shithole!

Open your eyes. The boy has problems.

Here's another possible scenario...

He does a few jobs for the boro over the years, completes them on time and for a decent price. He even throws in some free work from time to time just to maintain a good relationship.

Eventually, his lifestyle catches up with him and he is broke. He asks for money up front, probably baiting them with good prices and empty promises. They comply because they were happy with the relationship they had with him up until that point. He starts the work and then runs out of money again before being able to complete the project. Now, he has to do another job in order to have enough money to complete the original job AND support his own bad habits.

It's a vicious and unsustainable cycle of robbing Peter to pay Paul and is being driven solely by substance dependence. END OF STORY.
