Heard down at the Diner this morning that they are changing the date and time of trick or treating. Any solid truth to this? I understand with the recent crime as of late, but come on, look at our surrounding towns. Are they changing their times? They have alot worse crimes than we do! And now, if we change the date and times, we will have all the bums that surround us coming in to our town for a free treat. Crime is gonna happen. You can't predict when or where. You just have to be vigilant and look out for thy neighbors!

I half agree with you, but it's the excitement of giving that small child a treat and seeing the expressions regardless where or who thier parents are. Halloween is a tradition which was always celebrated on that evening. Yes, we've had bad times during the past months however maybe 5-7 on Thursday evening would be a great suggestion. Our community doesn't need to have trick or treat on any other day due to other community children coming here. People just can't afford to be giving to everyone. Sad but true.

If you want to see joy on kids faces, volunteer at children's hospital for that day. Go give to kids that really need brightened.

I hate to say this, but crimes are committed in broad daylight too!!!I think it should be on Halloween!! All you have to do is have it from 5-7! I agree Goblins...you will have kids from other communities coming here, and that's not right! This year they want to change when to celebrate Halloween, what's next....are you going to change days for celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas too?? Every town has problems, but you don't see them changing their Halloween...

All of this ↑↑&#85 93;↑↑ is why we don't trick or treat in this pedophile crackhead filled town. Like I would let my kids eat candy from any of your houses weirdo racist trash.

Funny you should mention changing Christmas. We are contemplating that as well as New Years. We would like to see them both occur only on Sundays from now on. So Christmas this year would be on December 22 and New Year will be on December 29. We will be ahead of all the other towns and our citizens will be able to enjoy the 25th and 1rst as days off from work and a day of rest rather than a day of running around. Christmas just feels better on a Sunday rather than the middle of the week.

Thanks for explaining Dave. We are also considering charging a house lighting fee this year to help fund our Glassport Memorial holiday decorations and lighting. Every house that puts up Christmas lights would be charged a $5 flat fee for the season. That would include lights on the inside of the windows and any inside Christmas lights that are visible, including your Christmas tree. Everybody can afford the $5. It ain't going to break you. You spend that much on lottery or cigarettes each day. Just cut back a little for the week or go cold turkey for one day. All of the $5 fees we will collect will go a long way to helping us defray some of the cost of dressing up the downtown for the holidays. Thank you.

Ridiculous. Halloween is for the kids to enjoy and as a tradition takes place on Halloween the 31st. We will be the only place in all of pittsburgh to have our children trick or treat BEFORE halloween and in the afternoon! Truly ridiculous!

Well, now calm down. We all didnt steal your damn pumpkins. Some of us are theft victims also, but we are not blaming the whole town nor downgrading it. And 80% of us aint trash. You dont like it here and think you can find a 100% theft free town then by all means pack your family up and run!!

I somewhat agree with Council making it early, but they should of thought things through better. It should of been on Halloween maybe 5-7 before it got to dark. There is other towns changing time and dates also. We got to applaud them thinking about kids and elderly though.

We celebrate Kwanzaa not Christmas , we sit around the fire and snort cocaine or smoke the crack pipe waiting for free stuff from obama, then we go to bed that night and try to get our sister's pregnant so's we cans gets more money for us family. maybe more affordable health care ( free ) and more money credits attached to our access card so's we could buy mour prime rib and meat at the grosery store. praise tha lord ! Spaggys have great meat and accepts our cards !
