Obama runs Alpha!?! I'm pretty sure if you'd do some research beyond what the talking heads on Fox "news" tells you, you'd see it has nothing to do with Obama.

when Obama was running for office in 2008 he made several comments on his campaign trail that he would in fact make the coal mining industry go bankrupt, and so far he has kept his word, if he gets re-elected it's only going to get worse for coal miners and their families...believe that!

I'm sorry to say but coal is done.Natural gas is cheaper and the plants are no longer gonna burn coal.We all just need to realize that we need to get new jobs and quit acting like coal mining is all we can do.

Well maybe ill buy a bus and give all the screwballs that helped get rid of coal a cheap ride to the welfare office because it will affect everyone not just the miners

Obama isn't against coal...he just wants a cleaner way to use it....tell power producing plants to install the technology already developed and it will be a lot easier on all of you coal workers....let's be real...this is our planet...coal is dirty as of now...gas is 50% cleaner to burn and make energy...50% ppl....gas is cheaper and also easier and safer to get...all coal needs to do is re think how they do it and they will get the target off their backs....and go ahead turn the lights out on em...they will just burn the cleaner cheaper safer option (gas) and laugh at you.... Like I said re-think how we do coal then get back to work...

Not to mention what you coal miners do to the land...gas has a small pad with a rig on it...that's it...the worse you can say is the tiny strip of woods they tear down to run lines...but damn str8 they do a good job to re claim it...and fracking is controversially bad...we don't know the true answers...so gas seems to be cleaner in every way... Not to mention cheaper...gas in going not in the old great great grampaw 6th generation breaking your back old way bull...it's going in new technological direction...developing and becoming smarter....like I said change coals processes and you may be pleased to see what's you get....ya better hurry

Obama is Anti-working class! Any person that doesn't sit back on their fat, lazy a$$ may as well stock up on KY if he is elected another term. Add it up people! 53% of the country is supporting 47% and those numbers are months old. When the other 1200 miners are laid off, that will put a dent in the rest of our economy and hurt other industries, ie retail, restaurants, healthcare, education, etc. How long do you think it will be before 47% is supporting 53%? Go ahead and vote for that socialist bastard you lazy, government leach!!!!!!

Well I guess we could vote for Mitt Romney who is for the rich only.He wants more taxes on the middle class and has had his own war on coal before when he was gov of mass.I'm not for either but screwed either way.I myself work in the coal industry and believe me people these companies are to blame also they care nothing about the guys working for them and they don't want any regulations so they can poison the waters and run unsafe.People forget Upper big branch so quick but the guys knew something was gonna happen but companies put pressure on u not to say nothing but when people die its not their fault.all the companies care about is money and nothing else believe me a lot of it is on them.
