What a load of crap! The Commonwealth of Kentucky pays for child care for all foster kids. The Commonwealth no longer pays for child care costs once the child is adopted. They still pay out the big check for adopted kids the same as they paid when they were foster kids but no longer pay for daycare or a family member to babysit. You are just hoping we are ignorant to the facts. And just so you know we didn't fall for your load of crap...special needs foster children get a higher rate paid to the foster parents and a drug baby is a special needs child. Go on with your crap. You need to preach to the people that actually fell off the turnip truck. Maybe they will fall for your load of bull but the rest of us aren't buying your crap lady.
No I still get $300 a month and still give her 7 breathing treatments a day due to here lack in prenatal care she has a temp of 102.0 as we speak and when I call in work I will get wrote up. Her mother was living in the streets shooting up heroin never ate and was brought into the hospital by a stranger when she was In labor. So if you think this is for $300 your insane. I have been to 3 months of classes, FBI check, home inspections, social worker is here every 28 days and I have to deal with the babies attorney social worker angel worker and have to tell them every move I make. When I adopt her I will get $400 a month from fla because she's a drug baby and she will get her college paid for because she is ward of the state. I have my own children a niece and nephew I'm raising for $00 I do it because I love them, maybe you should try puttin forh an effort of good faith, what I get from my precious baby girl is much more valuable than and amount of money I could eve get and by the way I am poor and live pay check to pay check

<quoted text> Why would you do that? You must be a very giving person to bring that kind of responsability upon yourself. I just can't figure how anyone could change their lives like that by taking on kids that are not related to them and have 24-7 problems. I will have to be honest. I wander if money is the reason.
I have always ended up with kids in my home. The kids that had problems at home or needed a place to go always ended up with me and I wasn't a foster parent and got nothing for doing it but now that there grown and doing good I'm glad I had a hand at helping them an there families.i have 5 kids in my home now and only get money for one, they need me. Two of them have a mother that is sick and one is going to college and has nowhere to be. I love kids and love being able to make a difference in there lives. As far as the baby I really only get $300 a month and if they said I couldn't get that then that would be okay with me. She's my baby now and I'll always have her with me. People always ask my why and how I do it and it always works out okay and I do it because I can't not help. There's a lot of people helping raise kids that's not there's but how could I turn down helping a kid that's just looking for a place to be and somebody to care for them. They have always came to my house to eat sleep stay whatever they need and there parents always knew where they where but a lot of people have problems and can't deal with there kids and the drug problem sure isn't helping these kids at all. We have to take care of these kids that are being put on the back burner they need to know somebody cares for them and that here good enough

By choice? Because you weren't aware that the government pays for it? Because you may be one of the few that actually cares about the kids? Do you pay for the kids medical or is that free from the Commonwealth? Do you get gas mileage money when you take the foster kids to certain places? Do you (did you) get WIC? Are medicines paid for by someone other than you? What about glasses? Braces?
People who adopt these children must qualify financially and that would mean they take over payment of medical, medicine, glasses, braces, colleg e,etc. right? Not so much in Kentucky and in our neck of the woods. You know and I know and they know a lot of people use the foster care/adoption as a money making business and sometimes as a maid service. Why you people attempt to defend those people speaks volumes about your intentions.
If your taking care of somebodies kids because they can't why should the foster parent pay for medical, glasses and braces? The kid was probally already on state health insurance anyway. The foster parent is doing there part and shouldn't have to pay for it. They can't just go get insurance andded and dropped when these kids are In and out sometimes for days or weeks at a time. These programs are in place for kids that need it and I'd say these kids would qualify for that

Amen......I take care of my grandson. I provide his health insurance, his food and his clothes. And by the way the state pays nothing and thats fine with me, because I would take care of him no matter what, because I don't want him tied up in the system.

But I do understand the situation, because there are people only in it for the money. And that is for the wrong reason.

Oh well, life goes on.
