Freedom of religion is a USA right....why should everyone be forced to believe as christians do??? If you want to talk trash....the current principals arent the only ones with infidelity issues....there are several central office staff employees who were former principals who had flings with teachers and got promoted....

Bottom line....school employees are people...not perfect....just people who make mistakes....one time is a mistake but if something becomes habit it should be delt with.

Totally agreeing with "Stupid.". Teachers and principals (especially at Barren County) could care less about getting any negative feedback from th Board of Education. Morality and pride in their work is deteriorating more and more. No one cares about keeping a respectful reputation. Educating children is not the goals of many,,,their focus is more on themselves. The teachers and principals are NOT setting good examples in front of the children and as far as "their private lives," their actions are happening while at school--in front of our children-- not just "in their private lives.". Someone - BOARD OF EDUCATION-needs to take action and not just on the criminal teacher but the adulterers as well.

I have known Bo and his wife a long time and I have always thought alot of them. As far as the problems in the school system, He is one man and they employ how many? Is he to keep up with all of them and thier personal lifes? I dont think the problems now are any different then they ever been. DR. R just knew how to cover up better.
Bo is just one man and give him time. He is not allowed to tell how and if he corrects anyone for the school system. So you dont know what has been done about it.
As far as the teachers and staff you got a mix of good and bad just like you do anywhere. I know some of all. I see it everyday everyplace I go. Job, home, career, or name dont make you any more than you choice to be.
Lets not tag them all bad and if you dont agree with the schools the way they are HOMESCHOOL!

Bo will do what Bo needs to do for Barren County Schools. The whole "cheating" thing is a bit ridiculous to be in a uproar about. People need to quit trying to punish people based on their religious views (weather cheating is wrong or right before god) and simply move on. Bo can't very well fire the "stalking" teacher (she is innocent until proven guilty) since she has tenure. So wait for the outcome and see what happens there. And for the ones who think Hale would have been better, feel free to send them to Glasgow School System.....If it came down to whats best for the students, or Hale's money/power status, you would find your kids out in the cold...

Why are you expecting anyone to do anything? A teacher having an affair and another in trouble with the law is not going to change the fact they have tenure (JOB SECURITY). Why would they do anything about it? The high school has teachers that participate in lap dances from their students and they continue to work. Nothing is going to happen.
Oh really teachers at the High School who get lap dances from their students? If it's true then tell names. However, it is just your alligator mouth overloading your jaybird ass. What proof do you have that this is occurring? I bet your proof is your large imagination.

That is what is wrong with the children today, as there peers have no morals. How are you going to raise good upstanding people when the people teaching them act the way they do. I know I am raising a grandaughter that goes to Barren County schools.

Why don't all you whiners and complainers go to school, get a teaching degree and get a job and teach these children and expose the ones you have something against so they can no longer work?? If you aren't willing to be a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem.

I certainly shelled out alot of money to the school system here this month on taxes, and I don't think it's out of the ordinary to want the system to employ teachers that are of the magnitude that the students can look up to...it's time, during this economic downturn, to make the teachers uphold some sort of decency, if not, FIRE them and I'm sure there are plenty of teachers waiting in the wings to get employed....

As much as I dislike the Crowders I still cannot believe that this happened. I don't get your problems with the Crowders that it would drive you to posting accusations on a website. There is something fishy about you and your comments. I wonder if you are just another person that wants to destroy lives? I hope for your sake that you have proof of this occuring otherwise you are pretty demented.

I understand about taxes --- I paid my property taxes in October. What everyone needs to remember is that the teacher can be the best in the country; however, if her students are unwilling to put forth effort or are lacking the desire to learn, whose fault is it then? Instead of going after teachers with a pitchfork and mob, parents need to assess what is distracting their children at home and keeping them from completing assignments thus inhibiting success. Yes, there have been issues with a few BC teachers, but does that disqualify every teacher in the system?

One reason education is on the decline in America is due to the numerous distractions overwhelming young people: cell phones and texting, internet, game systems, YouTube, working too many hours to pay for a vehicle, dating, casual sex, babies having babies, drugs - pot and meth (in addition to many others), taking care of siblings for a working single mother/father, being homeless, hunger, dental problems, needing clean clothes and hygiene products------the list goes on and on. Whether the young person is showered with material distractions or is overwhelmed with emotional, physical, or familial distractions, how can anyone expect teachers to be able to break through these barriers to reach the student without the help of the parent or parents?

Yes, educators are mentors and do influence the students; however, parents, friends, family members, television, music, internet, advertising, Hollywood, movies, celebrities, politicians, and numerous others do too. If one teacher is a negative influence, I would hope that the parents had already established a firm foundation of morals, values, and a belief system (mine is Faith in God and Salvation through Christ) for the student to recognize negative behavior and turn away from the negative behavior. If a student is easily influenced by the behavior, the parents need to look at their own parenting and their child's behavior.

Let's keep everyone accountable---not just the teachers who (for the most part) are trying to educate young people with love and compassion. Parents and teachers need each other to reach today's youth. Please find away to help and support each other --- everyone's future depends upon it.

here's what it boils down to on this one folks... these people on here bitching about these teachers are shitty parents... if they weren't so lazy or neglecting of their children they wouldn't worry about these teachers private lives because they'd either be too involved in their own kids' lives to notice, or they wouldn't worry about their kid because they felt confident they had taught their kids right from wrong. whether these parents are overworked and simply do not make the time to spend with their kids, or they're just selfish bastards that don't care... it doesn't really matter because neither is an excuse to be a shitty parent. it's not up to the state to set a shining moral example for your kids, and if you think it is then maybe you shouldn't be on Topix expressing your opinions without a brain... the state's job is to graduate your kid... period. when you start throwing morals into the school system it gets dangerous really quickly... who's morals should be use? and since many teachers are educated at liberal universities the basis for their morals might not be the same as you heros, good ol George W. Bush. then you shitlicking retards would be on here bitching about how little freshmen Susie came home with a condom in her backpack... better her bringing home a condom than a teen pregnancy isn't it??? get a life fucktards, and you can't do that then get a goddamn hobby because all you're doing here is letting everyone know just how ignorant and stupid you all are... notice how nobody has actually done anything about this whole fabricated situation??? that would probably be because nobody wants to be the first one to get laughed out of the Board of Education... you don't like public school? then homeschool! im sure Jr. will finally learn how to read when he's 25.

I don't agree with everything you say, but you do make a point. If you expect a teachers/principals to teach your child morals, then where do you stop? Do you get rid of every teacher that is divorced? Maybe I believe every divorced person is morally corrupt. Do you get rid of every teacher in a racial relationship? There are some that thinks that is morally corrupt.(Just playing devil's advocate here) When you get into people's personal lives, who decides where to draw the line...... As long as the children are safe and receiving a good education then people should stay out of other people's personal lives.

Why don't we all try praying for all parties involved? I'm sure each person involved is suffering in some form. I can't imagine the guilt for those that have committed the immoral act nor the devastation on those wounded by the decision. Let's try to set a Godly image for all. That is our purpose on earth, to further His kingdom.

When Bo Matthews was elected, I was both happy for him as well as for the BC school system. I went to high-school with both Bo and his wife Terri and thought alot of both of them. It's nice to see classmates succeed in life. Several people said this position would go to his head, but knowing his family and background, I disagreed. Now,,,,at this point Bo needs to "step up" so to speak and begin fulfilling his responsibilities in responding to all of the mess going on in sooo many of the schools in Barren County School's system. This mess includes North Jackson's principal and teacher public affair that ended in 2 divorces and now they prance around publically like a respectable???? couple,,,seriously - people are sickened and disgusted. Then you have another affair with WHAT another principal and a guidance councilor. I mean well why not,,,they are not afraid of receiving any retribution. Now we have a teacher that has actually been arrested. The BC Board of Education instructed her to take time off WITH PAY until matters are settled. Seriously why not go on and pay her traveling and lodging expenses and send her away on vacation. I am waiting Bo, dont disappoint me as well as the rest of the school system's families that have morals and trust you WILL DO THE RIGHT THING.
