I read an article recently that he may be tried as an adult.
Anyone else agree that he should? What are your inputs?

it sounds like he was a spoiled brat and he has mental problems. get mad b/c his "Girlfriend" couldn't come to the house. it people like that makes it hard to buy a gun with all the paper work. he should be charged as an adult. well Mr endicott you can kiss his life goodbye you will live in block room with your new friend Bubba.

If he thought he wasn't going to get to see his
girlfriend then, what about now? He may be spending the rest of his life in jail.

she's gonna be knocked up without him being around to see the baby and be with it

yeah he needs to be tried as an adult. it just fits his crime, IMO.

that's why kids ( young adults ) do this kind of crap, no consequence. you're not "allowed" to put a boot in their butt when they mess up a little, so when they mess up worse when they get older, then its "poor so and so" I say lock his hind end up for the adult crime he committed

When Chris was a kid he was mean. Wouldn't listen to no one then. Always doing mean shit. His Dads in prison for murder and the apple didn't fall far from the tree. If that girl is pregnant, the best thing she could do is get an abortion. Break that chain. The boy has to have mental problems. He was a problem child. He deserves to be put to death, just like he gave his victims. It had to be premeditated. Took her dog to the adult day care center ahead of time and waited for them to go to sleep! He'll get what he deserves.

Oh, parents and schools are "allowed" to spank kids; corporal punishment is legal in KY, and I don't know any police officer in KY that would arrest a parent for spanking a child. Abuse is one thing, spanking is another. You're not going to jail for spanking. You're right about there being no consequences though. Kids are being allowed to run the show at home and then parents wonder what happened when they become teenagers and nobody can control them. It's high time that parents take the job of parenting seriously and start taking control of their kids. Otherwise all hell's going to break loose in this country, and I'm not kidding.

I'm afraid you're wrong about that. I don't think he'll get what he deserves.

are you high?? Schools aren't aloud to spank children. You need to be reinformed.

I really feel sorry for Chris Endicott. First off, he wasn't the typical jock. He was a chubby little geek whom probably dealt with bullies all his life like his family admitted. He had bounced around from school to school and never really had any friends. The Holloways lived in a dump and his mother didn't even want him, he probably didn't have a biological father either. The only friend he ever had was the 12 year old Shockley girl.

I was just like Chris when I was 15, I was the poster child of geeks, even the dorks and nerds bullied me. I sat by myself at lunch and even got a fake doctor excuse so I wouldn't have to take PE. I was so miserable at one point in my junior year, I tried to drown myself in the bathtub. Those memories still haunt me to this day even though I am almost 40. Chris was obviously delusional and viewed the Holloways as bad people whom were trying to take his only friend. I do believe the boy should be put away, but I think he should go to a mental institution and not be thrown in with the true lowlifes.

If Chris had been the little jock and star of the sports team with the girlfriends and from the wealthy side, I wouldn't feel sorry for him, but he really had it tough.

So basically what you are saying is that everyone that gets bullied and has a rough life is mentally incompitant and should just kill everyone that tells them what to do.

I don't think that is what the writer is trying to convey. IMO there are too many people having children that do not have the resources or the mental capacity to raise them. Young mothers are not emotionally mature enough to deal with the tantrums and other behaviors of children. They get frustrated because they are not emotionally mature themselves. Poverty is another hinderance to child rearing. If you are relying on a welfare or a disability check, then you do not have the resources to raise a child today.Children need more than love, they need decent clothes, decent food, experiences such as going to museums or on vacations. If you are pulling change together to pay the rent or utilities then there is nothing left over for the children. I am not talking about buying them xboxes etc.., just the basic needs.

I understand what you and the other gentleman are saying, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that this 15 year old child murdered 2 people that fed, clothed, and took him into their home and tried to raise as their own. He didn't murder those people because he was bullied or poor, it was because they wouldn't let him date a 12 year old girl, let's be honest how many parents out there would let their 15 year old date a 12 year old. Now i am not saying that he should be locked up for the rest of his life or that we should give him the death penalty but don't just give him a slap on the wrist and say to the family of the people he murdered that it was because he wasn't rich or popular, if we do that then that gives every other teen in america an excuse to murder their parents and say it was because they were bullied or poor or not a jock.

I also don't like our foster care system in KY. Foster parents typically exagerate the childrens behaviors so that they can get more money (the worse the childs behavior the more money you get from the state). Look at Spectrum Care academy here in Glasgow, they hire drug addicts, and theives to work with the children. The girls there have been molested and abused. If the children don't act out then the facility doesn't get as much reimbursement. The staff make sure that the girls do something every week to maintain their reimbursment rate. Its child abuse. If people would quit having children that they are not prepared to raise, then our foster care system would not be in the shape it is in today.

The holloway man that was murdered was grotesque. He looked just like Charles Manson with that beard and hair. Plus that place where they lived was unfit to raise a dog much less a 15 year old human being. The place had rats in the house from what I heard. The holloways should have never been allowed to raise him since they were unfit themselves.

Now I am not defending the boy either, if he could murder them for nothing, then he deserves to spend the rest of his life locked up without ever being able to harm someone else. I can't believe how nasty the little 12 year old girl was wearing a bra on the news in that picture and she had a myspace at only 11 years old. When my child was her age a few years ago, she was in bed by 7:30 pm, never wore revealing clothing and never talked to a boy. The 11 year olds mother and father should be in jail for child neglect.
