After reading what each candidate had to say tonight in the GDT there is only one question that I needed to know. How each felt about the size of the council being reduced.

Only Honeycutt, Irwin, Norris, Stutler, Wells, and Webb said it should be reduced. Then these are the only candidates I'll vote for.

Let's not forget, you don't have to vote for 12. You can vote for one if that's the only one you have confidence in.

I don't know why Glasgow don't do like Bowling Green and go to 4 city commisoners and Mayor. B.G. is lots bigger then Glasgow and they get by fine that way and look at the money Glasgow could save.

every time you ask one of our city council member anything, all they will tell you, thats what they do in bowling green. why ask 12 people a question, only ask 5. that is what they do in bowling green

dont vote for that Jimmy Ferrel. All he says is I make a motion to adjourn, then his buddy, and neighbor Pickett says I need a second and thats it. He does it at every meeting, and that is all he has done since he has been on the council. I have seen him over at the mayors house. They are big buddies. He needs to go off the council.

I agree totally. A town the size of Glasgow doesn't need 12.

Of the ones on the council now running for re-election to the council, only NORRIS, WELLS and STUTLER voted to reduce the size.

5 of the 12 voted to keep the size at 12 and to keep all their benefits. Isenberg, Armstrong, Marion, Groce and Ferrel.

Vote for Norris. Wells and Stutler.

thanks for letting us know. I will be voting for Norris, Wells, and Stutler. Maybe once Trautman becomes mayor, the city can downsize to an appropriate number of council members.

Benefits was not the subject of my post, size of the council is.

Regardless of their benefits being eliminated, we are still paying a salary to 12 when 5 or 7 is more than enough for a city our size.

I think I am the first one to comment on the benefits. I wanted to throw out the names of the members who wanted to keep their benefits intact. I thought that info might be helpful to someone in deciding who to vote for or against, in my case.

They may have voted to do away with benefits, but they voted to up their salary by almost exactly the same amount. So it doesn't matter who voted which way, it doesn't cost the city any less to have 12 idiots. That's why in the future, we need to make sure the people of Glasgow get to vote on the size of the Council, not the selfish Council Members.

It does make a difference in that you can vote against them next Tuesday.

The council successfully passed removal of benefits and they did not raise their salaries. Those who voted for this measure were Stutler, Witcher, Norris, Wells and Neal. the other remainining ones voted against this. Their was a measure on the table to raise salary to 12000/yhear and this failed due to the votes of the same ones abovel. the new council will NOT GET BENEFITS and their salary will be around $8000 as it is now. Trautman voted with those listed above on these mesaures. As with a lot of government, this is confusing but I believe this is correct. 3 of these people listed above also were the ones who also tried to reduce the size. those were Wells, Stutler and Norris. Again Trautman voted with them on this too.

If you put these all together there is definately a pattern forming those working to improve Glasgow and save money and those who are not interested in that but more focused on sefl interests.
