I took my son in there the other night, it was 3am. Took him cause he was sick and throwing up all night and wouldnt stop. I drove about 100mph to get him there from Edmonton and never even seen a cop to help me. I was scared to death. I get there and the place was empty but yet we had to sit there and wait for about 1 hour to get seen so that the nurses and Drs. could stop having stupid ass converstaions about nothing. Then when we finaly get a room im sitting in ther watching everone stand behind the desk laughing and having them selfs a good time while we are in there with our son throwing up everyplace. not knowing what its wrong with him. It takes about another 45 min when we get in the room for a Dr to walk in there to see us, says we gonna do some blood work. Then they come in there and stick him in the arm, im holding him and he is screaming his brains out. She put the need in and when she pulled out to leave that other peace in to draw blood it pulled out half way. She is sitting there trying to force it back in! What the hell is that? Finaly i had to tell them to tak that shit out of his arm then they stick him in his foot to get the blood. I will never go back to that hospital agian, They would rathers sit there watching somone die before they help you, They wanna know if your insurance is gonna cover you being ther first, fucked up shit and that hospital needs to shut down.

My husband went there last year and we went during the day and they still took a long time to see us. Once he was released from the hospital and we get home, we see he has had an allegeric reaction to the medicine they gave him. We went to Urgentcare to get find out what was wrong and when we gave them a copy of his hopsital release papers, they were shocked by how much medicine he was on and most of it was not necessary. We won't be going back there.

Went there for ER and went as fast as possible. Saw registration, triage, cute nurse, doctor got prescription all in about 45 min. Barely even waited anywhere. I think they did an excellent job, answered all questions and were professional. I'm sure people have had to wait a lot longer on busy nights, but hosptial can't control that.

tj samson is a wonderful hospital...
it's just people or every patients who go there always want the full attention right away,,,, i agree that ER is for people that have life threatening sickness.. sometimes doctors or nurses needs to see or know who needs the most urgent or emergency attention... but if e.r is not busy and there just talking then it's a different story,,,,

i remember one time i was at the e.r. in my own eyes i saw the nurse showing her tattoo on her bikini line at the back to the security guard and laughing... giggling,,, and i said what!!!!!

well tj is a good hospital...

i went to tj samson not too long ago, i was rushed by ambulance, something was wrong with my stomach and i could walk or stand up i was screaming in pain (im 25 yrs old so why i cry it really hurts lol). they took me from the ambulance bed and put me in a wheel chair and pushed me out into the waiting room where i had to sit for a little over 2 hours. they finally got me to a room where i layed there and screamed out the door for a doctor for another hour and a half. i went to the door and saw the doctor sitting there eating popcorn. i was outraged. i was begging for something for pain, then i finally told them that if they dont give me something for the pain, it is not hard to find someone who will give me some in the streets of glasgow. finally they gave me a shot and it put me to sleep. they didnt tell me what was wrong or give me meds for it. they just sent me on my way after taking my money for their horrible service.

That hospital is terrible. But what do you expect. Most of the patients are welfare rats who run to the ER for every little thing instead of making an appointment and seeing a doctor for routine issues. Medicaid reimburses very little because of the abuse. If these welfare rats would actually have to pay for their unnecessary visits then they wouldn't be running in there for painkillers and xanax or because their little illegit is complaining of a tummy ache (after eating all the dingdongs and hot pockets purchased from the foodstamp card). Then there are the Glasgow skanks who spread their legs and expect the ER doc to take care of their rotten puss.
you seem to know alot about what can be bought with foodstamps and medicaid, i think you are a "welfare rat" and just because you go to the hospital and complain about your rotten puss, doesnt mean everyone does.

Well F-you, Kim!! I had a bad infection in a finger, was starting to swell rapidly, change colors and hurt. Medical resources will tell you to get attention ASAP. That's what the hospital's there for.
Oh, and F-you, btw, Kim!!

If your finger was that bad, and if it was a true medical emergency then you would not have been out in 45 minutes. You would have been given IV antibiotics and been checked for sepsis, which can be done through blood testing. It takes longer than 45 minutes to get bloodwork back. You probably had nothing better to do that night, and figured your medical card covers er visits so you decided it would be a cheap night out. You could also find out who else was there and for what. You sound like a sissy, who would rather rely on the er to put a snoppy band-aid on a paper cute instead of spending your booze and dope money on some peroxide. Bet you were also hoping to score some oxy's or hydro's.

Cute, Kim, but your lack of creditentials makes it hard to believe you. I was actually working that night in preparation for some important business the next morning. Sorry to disrupt your inflated opinion of yourself but I probably bring home three times whatever you make. I think you have me confused for some other demographic, but normal people use the ER too.

And apparently you have never been to T.J, they have one doctor working at night usually and the rest are nurse practitioners, who can diagnose, but they are not a real doctor. They only do extensive testing when necessary true, but they are nothing special! I went a few months ago fort gallbladder, they checked my liver enzymes said I was fine and gave me some pain meds, I seen my family doctor who treated me for an ulcer, told me to come back if that didn't work, it didn't. He set me up a special test to gave done to check my gallbladder. The night before my special test I went back to the ER they scanned my gallbladder said it was fine, and diagnosed me with a kidney infection! My actual test ordered by my doctor showed that my gallbladder was inflammed and wasn't functioning properly.
The discharge nurse who discharged me after my surgery really did not go over my instructions thoroughly, and when I was in the recovery room I asked what time it was and got a rude response! The previous year I had my child there, I tried breastfeeding, my daughter just would not latch on, I brought my breast pump to use, but they would not let me use it! A nurse actually forcefully grabbed my breast and tried forcefully to get my baby to nurse, which did not work. My daughter was jaundiced, which I believe might have been due to the fact that she had not had anything to eat, she could not nurse, and the morning after I brought her home, she was dehydrated, I could finally have a say in what I wanted to do for my daughter, and I went out and bought her a can of formula, and she ate for the first time in 3 days!! T J sucks, they have an awful staff, with the exception of a few. Too bad it is the hospital choice for many people because they have no other choice.

I took my son there once and he was really sick fever of 103 throwing up, wouldn't eat. They gave him something for stomach spasms and said this was the problem. I took him to his pediatrician the next morning, she told me to immediatly throw the medicine away it was not a proper medicine for an infant to be taking and could make him more sick. He ended up being admitted to the hospital because he had RSV and where he was throwing up he had gotten a sore in the back of his mouth and that's why he wouldn't eat. Also my mother went in there with a broken wrist they said it was just a sprain and they said she was fine, a couple days later she went to a different doctor and it turns out it was broken. I don't think the doctors really know what they are doing. They don't seem to take the effort to find out what the problem really is.
