Just think about it, look how many people in Glasgow go to jail for smoking a little pot here and there, Now have any of you. People heard of as many wrecks and horrible accidents that occurs from smoking pot? Mostly alcohol is the cause of death by motor vehicles and machinery right? Why is it that a man made drink is completely legal and a harmless plant is illegal? kinda fucked up right? I even had a doctor tell me that it's okay to smoke weed because medically it cant hurt you. But on the other side I believe I'll just drink a beer and get liver damage then I'll have to pop prescription pills to take the pain away from my failing liver, but if I could just light a joint then I wouldn't want a beer. Then I could save my liver from the harmful effects of alcohol and just simply get a (high) off of a joint. But instead the harmless Is illegal . And the damaging alcohol is legal? I think the people that pass the laws need to read this and a few others should back me up on this because I know like heck I'm not the only person in Glasgow and surrounding areas that could only dream of something like this happening. Thanks:)

Hell yeah, it would save me from going back to jail again over it, but I hope jobs and places still drug test to get on the job, but I do believe it would help Glasgow out big time.

Why anyone with sound mind would want to take drugs of any kind, or liquor into their body. I wouldn't want anything in mine that would alter my brain. I don't smoke cigarettes either. I think that was a wise decision I made when I was in school years back. Just say 'No' is a good choice for a better life, and better health.

We know it is a plant. The plant isn't the concern, buddy funny duddy. I know I'm not taking you seriously. I know you are being serious. It is a plant that alters your brain, or you wouldn't be wanting it.

Altering and addiction is two different things, if the plant helps you and causes no harm to the human body then why is it still determined illegal? All I'm wanting on this forum is answers, that is all I am asking for, I just don't understand how they could consider the plant illegal, because it grows on it's own in places, how is the government going to hold back the people who smoke pot everyday? Think about it, that's over 1/2 the US population.
no way

Over 1/2 the population? Is that fuzzy math again?
Maybe you should move where it is legal?

We know many of you would like pot made legal, our county to be wet, and would have liked to be able to smoke anywhere you want around here. I wish some of you think beyond the end of your nose sometime. You think only of yourself!

The issue is not really whether marijuana is harmful or not, it's that prohibition was already proven to be a failed policy almost 100 years ago but yet marijuana is still prohibited federally. You can argue with everyone until you're blue in the face that marijuana is harmful but studies have proven that it isn't really even as harmful as alcohol or tobacco. SMOKING is what's harmful, but that is not the only method of ingestion. You can also eat it or brew it like tea, which negates the "harmful effects". Despite that aspect of the issue, look at the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WASTED each year to fight something that doesn't even need to be fought! Two doctorates of economics did a study on exactly how much money is wasted each year in the war on drugs, and they estimated that the federal government loses over 40 billion dollars EACH YEAR from marijuana prohibition and lost tax revenue. If the government would simply create a tax policy similar to how they tax alcohol and tobacco and/or schedule marijuana as a prescription drug with approved medical uses then they could stop wasting taxpayers money to fight the losing war on drugs and actually start generating revenue from its legal sale. Law enforcement resources could then be used more appropriately to fight "hard drugs" such as meth, cocaine, and heroin. On top of all that, cartel violence at the border would likely decrease significantly due to the fact that our nation's demand for marijuana could be satisfied domestically instead of relying heavily on foreign suppliers. It's really a win win situation for everyone to legalize it. It's also doubtful that usage rates would increase among teens because by putting age restrictions on purchases, it would actually make it harder to obtain by underage people. Do you think the people who sell marijuana currently require age verification for purchase? I found that when I was underage that it was much easier to get marijuana than alcohol! Not to mention the fact that many who sell marijuana do not only sell it exclusively, but also encourage their customers to try harder, extremely addictive drugs like meth! Legalizing marijuana would also eliminate most of that problem as well. Nobody in favor of legalization is advocating underage use or trying to make anyone else use marijuana, we are just tired of funding an unnecessary war against ourselves! I mean, if you really think about it who is the winner in the war on drugs? NOBODY! The government is never going to eliminate marijuana, and users end up giving their own tax dollars to fight themselves!

Cannabis can be habit-forming and the development of cannabis dependence in some users has been well established; its effects on intelligence,[28] memory, respiratory functions and the possible relationship of cannabis use to mental disorders[29] such as schizophrenia,[30] psychosis,[31] depersonalization disorder[32] and depression[33] are still under discussion. A study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology in 2011, concluded that the prevalence of obesity is lower in cannabis users than in nonusers.[34]
A 35-year study published August 2012 in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and funded partly by NIDA and other NIH institutes provides objective evidence that, at least for adolescents, marijuana is harmful to the brain.[28] It was found that the persistent, dependent use of marijuana before age 18 showed lasting harm to a person's intelligence, attention and memory. Quitting cannabis did not appear to reverse the loss. However, individuals who started cannabis use after the age of 18 did not show similar declines.[35]
A July 2012 report in Brain reveals neural-connectivity impairment in some brain regions following prolonged cannabis use initiated in adolescence or young adulthood.[36]not harmful? helps to be educated.

Fact is, the government has no business telling us what to do with our bodies (marijuana) or in our bedrooms (same-sex marriage), and with the latest state votes we seem to be moving in the right direction.

It may be heading in the right direction to you, but to me and other Christians out here it isn't. Being gay is not Biblical.

I smoke pot on occasion, so let me clear that up before I go on. People get on here and talk about that they want to smoke pot for healing purposes and the majority do not have a damn thing wrong with them. Marijuanna is a drug because it gets you high. All drugs come from plants! Opium is a plant that has nothing altered in it and is directly made into heroin. The Coco plant is directly cocaine. So before you get on here and make yourself look stupid, try and think about what you are saying. I am all about legalizing pot but I'm not about people trying to alter truths to get people on their side. Pot does have healing purposes but the majority just want to get high. Hell, thats the only reason I smoke it! I want to get high. Truth will get you alot further than LIES! Pot is alot safer than alcohol, coke, pills or any other drug. So yeah, legalize it and people might leave the harder shit alone! On another note SMOKING marijuanna has down sides, like lung cancer and the temporary NUMBING of brain cells. It doesn't kill brain cells according to studies. So there ya go.... THE TRUTH!
