Fergies Hometown restaurant! Everyone in Glasgow and surrounding counties have always wanted and need a restaurant that is their for the GUEST. Fergies is privately owned and operated by a local Hometown boy. If you have ever visited it's sister restaurants, then you will be excited about what Fergies is striving to bring to Glasgow. Fergies is about QUALITY, CONSISTENCY and TIMING of it's service, food and drink. I am sure all of the kinks are not worked out in the first week. Let's give this est. and owner a few chances, you get 3 strikes in baseball and 4 downs in football. Fergies will WOW you with it's service and food, they also have the ability to provide quality entertainment and caterig, just what this comunity deserves. Just remember we crawl befoe we walk, our HOMETOWN boy and his restaurant will be running before you know it! Thank you for coming to Glasgow and Barren County, Go Scotties!!!

I agree. Just hope they take some of this criticism as opportunities to help find ways to improve.

Actually to those of you who are quite uninformed, Cheddars is not a mexican restaurant and they have chips and salsa on the appetizer menu and GIVE two additional refills and it is priced at 1.99. Point is, if you don't know something, find out.
I noticed that what they call a vegetable medley is called veg-all in the supermarket. If I go back, I will give their french fries a try and see if they can cook them correctly.
The point many fail to see is that if your are paying 15-25 dollars for a meal, one has and should have expectations that it be cooked right and be of good quality. If you want food==i use the word loosely==done wrong with no taste, that is what McDonalds is here for, proof that most have no taste when it comes to food. If they did, McDonalds would not exist anymore.

Key word may be Bible thumpers and not Bible readers. If you read the bible, you'll learn that Jesus FIRST miracle was turning water into wine. NO, it was not grape juice. It was wine. Bible condemns drunkeness, not the drinking of alcoholic drinks in moderation. By keeping a town dry, you only continue to support bootleggers who sell to your children that are underage, and their payoffs to the crooks that run the town. So, your seventeen yr old will NOT be having a drink at Fergies. They will go to you local bootlegger that your no vote continues to keep in business.

Many of our restaurants are owned and operated by local , hometown people. I don't understand what you are saying about Fergies that sets them apart from our other fine restaurants. I am glad we have different Mexican restaurants , we have a great Italian restaurant, we have oriental restaurants, fast food, we have Barren River State Park, which is a lovely place to take your family and have dinner. We have steak houses , we have George Js which is really apart of past and present Glasgow. I can always find something I like at each and every one of these restaurants, get a life and enjoy our blessings....PEACE

Just don't be of the mistaken impression that anyone who works there wrote that. At least, I hope they don't work there. People who work there should already know that there's no "'s" on the end of the name. It's "Sorrento," just like the city in southern Italy.

Have not been to Fergie's, but come on, you call that fresh and original...This Fergies is buckhead with a waiter/waitress. I can't believe they did not remodel the place. I am surprised the Buckead creators are allowing them to use the same design that Buckhead has in Bowling Green.
Fergies should have done a total makeover like Coltons did to Ponderosa. Can you imagine Coltons operating in the old Ponderosa design.
Too bad Colton's didn't do a makeover on teaching cooks how to cook and servers how to give service. Went there once and that was enough for me.

Someone mentioned someone working there with a mohawk, so apparently from the start they must not be concerned with image.

well me and a friend had lunch there monday, we did not wait no time for a table..very quickly seated, and it was 12:30 lunch hour...there was like four tables we could see not seated...everything else was taken. we was close to the doors, so when they opened we felt alot of cold air on us. we did not like that. however to get on with the food. we both ordered something different it was our first time there, i must say we both really enjoyed what we had very much. i do feel it was alittle pricy for what we got however not that bad. i would say for us we would go back and had dinner with them. as far as service, we had a lady i would guess in her mid 30's, and was ok at best. once we got our food, we never seen her again, other then waiting on other guest. other servers around help us when we needed something we even had to go to the host station to get our check. other than the service not very good the food was and that will bring us back there. for dinner next time.

The hometown and local owners need to take note.

The moms and pops used to seem to care but now they act like they are doing you a favor to let you eat there. So be it. I prefer my own cooking too, but like to go out every now and then. It is a shame when you pay a hefty price for a meal and you would find a cup of chili at Wendy's more satisfying simply because it taste better than the cooked to death food at the so called better places. Someone should try the concept of we'll provide the food and kitchen, you can cook it since our kitchen staff won't know how. I do hope Fergie's gets it together soon or they will be biting the dust.

Has anyone who has been there talked to an owner or manager to see if they even care what people think of them so far? If they did, I would think they would be very visible during this opening and interacting with the quests. I didn't see any of that happening.

I had mixed feelings about my visits there. The first time was okay, but nothing to rave about. The second time was better. I had dinner there the first time and they were really busy. I suspect this contributed to what was lacking. I think they were rushing to stay on top of the orders and didn't pay enough attention. Two of our orders were wrong and the waitress was too busy telling us it wasn't her fault to actually take care of the problem.
The second time I ate there was for lunch. They weren't very busy and the food was better. I didn't get the same meal but got the same side item. The side item tasted better at lunch. I think it was because they were better focused without the pressure of getting so many orders done. The waitress was also more attentive.
Both times, we were seated rather quickly. I have no complaints there.

Oh, and the reason I replied to your comment specifically was because you asked if managers came around and talked to the guests. Both times that I ate there, a manager came to our table to ask how everything was. I wasn't rude, but I did express to her my concerns but I also gave compliments where they were due. So, atleast twice, the managers have been out visiting the tables to see how things are going. Hopefully they will take to heart the comments that customers give them DIRECTLY. Anyone can get on here and complain but unless they tell a manager directly, it's difficult to fix a problem. If I were a manager of a business, I would find it hard to take to heart any comments on here. Some people will say hateful things about a place even when they haven't eaten there.
So to all who have had problems with Fergie's, if you eat there again, ask your server to send the manager to your table (if the manager doesn't come on his/her own). That way, you can express any concerns you have. This would probably help them out.

This is fantastic. People posting positive positions on portions etc.. This is the best discussion I"ve seen on Topix. With the exception of a few "dry" folks(Lord Bless 'em), some folks that hate everything, the person worrying about whether to spell Sit, Set.or Set ,Sit, and the lady pushing the Chinese Restaurant, this has been good.

I like Chinese. The menu looks like the Physcians Directory at Graves Gilbert Clinic but I love that su shi...I think I've seen LuLu and a couple of other posters in the Chinese place. She could have been that nice Lady who fills her plate to the brim four times and insists on having a "diet" coke. Gotta get rid of some of that 300 lbs.

I 've seen a few more of you there too. You bring your kids, let 'em serve themselves in the line and then you walk out, leaving about $50.00 worth of wasted food on the table, and no tip.

I think I'm heading to Fergies, ordering a drink and hoping my Baptist friends don't see me sipping it.

Like others who have eaten there, the chicken strips were raw. And when we reported it to the server she simply asked did we want some more or remove it from the bill. We had them deduct it. And when someone came by later and asked how we enjoyed the food was I said not much, the chicken was raw, and they said well, maybe it will be better the next time you come in. WTF? Also it was in the afternoon during a slow period with all kinds of tables available and the hostess had to study for what seemed like 5 minutes deciding where to put us. Come on

I do not understand English to good. What means this "WTF"? We were discussing an eating place, does this mean "Want The Fries"? Were they crispy or soggy? I just love French Fries. In Jerkistan we have Chinese Fries.

WELL to the non believers--TIME will tell.. right now they say well-they are new-give them a chance.ok--but in 4 months---either they will still have customers or the doors will be locked.. after a month-if they are still serving raw meat--people will stop going and they will close it down like the ones who had it open before--what happened there??? it opened with a bang--and then it closed down..see --if you don't keep the customer happy--ya got no place--end of story... so people--4 months-by june 1---drive by and look-- they will probabaly be GONE.
