I think both are KCTCS affiliated. WKU is a University! Depends on what program you are trying to get into. If it is nursing, then BGTC, WKU, is VERY selective, I know a friend who is desperately trying to get into Nursinf at WKU but it is not going well for you, especially if you are older and married and are wanting to go back to college. And it does not matter which you go to, what is important is that you are wanting to furher your education! Good Luck!

Some programs are selective. Nursing is selective all the way around. Aside from nursing or dental or other medical fields, you can easily major in anything. WKU has very low standards to attend the university. They will take ANYONE for gen eds. Most of the ones who have low standards go to south campus. WKU makes people go to south campus if they aren't up to par when they sign up.

Nursing is really over rated. It's always going to be needed but they don't make much for what they do. making 60 or 80 grand a year might be great for an RN, even, but for what they have to do, that's a measly amount. If you are smart, consider other fields. Chemistry, physics, mathematics....etc. Those jobs, the sky is the limit, and you can make much more than a nurse. I'm still saying a university is much much better than any old community or junior college. Once you go to a university you'll hate the regional or community colleges. The caliber of people you are classmates with at a university far exceeds that of the people you encounter at community colleges usually. Take it from me, I'm a graduate of a university, and I took jr college classes in the summer to graduate faster.

LOL I don't believe that you attended either WKU or BGTC. If you had then you would know that the same professors that teach at WKU teach at BGTC. You are getting the same caliber of education at BGTC the exception is the way the programs are set up. You are misinforming people and have an agenda although you are not forthcoming with what it is. Stuff a sock in it.

I don't think so... students that attend BGTC get their general education requirements from WKU but the BGTC professors do not teach at WKU.

None of my professors taught at BGTC because my major wasn't offered at a junior college. I took english 100 at BGTC online during one summer. I can tell you, it was the easiest class ever and the people posting in the online forum were dumb. Most were middle aged or seriously too stupid to even hack it at WKU's South Campus.

I took chemistry, physics and algebra at ECC which is also a KCTCS school and it was so easy and the people in my classes were really stupid. I also took those during summer terms. Except for physics, I took it during a regular semester.

Maybe some do. Like I said, no one for my major teaches at BGTC because it's not offered there. You are more than likely the same type of person I was talking about when I said stupid people go to the technical colleges. I graduated from the Ogden College of Science and Engineering at WKU, thanks.

Oh well, if you want to do something silly, and aren't very smart go to the technical colleges. That's what they are there for. You get what you pay for and tuition there is dirt cheap. Maybe you can do plumbing or computer repair or medical transcription or whatever else it is that average people do for a living.

To Idiot Newspaper...

You are the true idiot...You don't have a clue what you're talking about. I'd say you are what average people do for a living, talking dumb $#it...
BGTC and WKU are both accredited by the same agency that accredits colleges...Means everything earned will transfer to each other or to any other colleges. BGTC and all of KCTCS has much reduced tuition for the first 2 years of Gen Ed. Why would any smart person pay almost 3 times the tuition for the same English, Math, etc at WKU when they can get the very same at BGTC for much cheaper tuition. If you happen to get a lazy professor that dummys down a course, then you need to report it..
You high and mighty, Dumba$$ posters make me sick...
So if you want to do something silly, then get a clue...

As I said, I only went there to take a few silly gen eds. I have NO IDEA how BGTC does things. Yes, they are accredited, yes the courses transfer. I'm telling you, from personal experience from going to BOTH schools that technical colleges are easier. Tuition at BGTC and ECC was very cheap, which is another reason why I chose to do some off session courses there. As far as the "first two years of gen eds", I've heard they make you take all of your gen eds first. That's ridiculous.
