The VFW and the Country Club are private clubs and not regulated under the same law as restaurants in a moist county.

You can also be a honorary member for a price and member can bring guests in. If not a member it's none of your business. The VFW is a national non profit organization that continues to do a lot of good for our little community.

Yea the REAL VETERANS do but not the so called honorarys that just use it as a place to go and GET DRUNK and then get out and drive. AND THEY DAMN SURE SHOULD NOT if they wear a badge and put people in jail when they are doing the same thing. DOUBLE STANDARD- SORRY EXCUSE FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Yeah I've seen a couple of city cops out there. I believe I'm starting to believe all the crap I read on here about the so called police chief. Has no control over his department.

Should be for what the name is VETERANS, how many COPS are going out there and getting DRUNK and even have family member bartending. Place has became a slur to REAL VETERANS. CLEAN IT UP. And the VFW is in the County, look at a map.

I went out there a while back for the first time to listen to a band that I had heard about & it was a hot mess. Beer was sold to under age kids. I knew they were not 21 yrs of age because I knew the kids parents. It was just a wild party. People were so drunk they were stumbling all over the place, fighting & acting fools. This is not a good establishment for Barren Co. Something needs to be done before someone gets hurt or even killed.

Just because the VFW is a club doesnt mean they are above the law.

The VFW is in the county. The county is dry. Only the city of Glasgow is moist. Any sell of alcohol in the county is against the law.

Folks I'm going to tell you one more time. Only the City is moist. The County is dry period. Only two places can serve alcohol - the city of Glasgow and the city of Cave City. That's it. Period.

Neither the mayor nor the GPD have any authority over the VFW. It's outside the city limits for a reason. The ABC is the agency to contact if you have personal knowledge of illegal activity and are willing to testify to it. If you disagree with the way the club is managed; it's a national organization with district, state and national officers. If you're a member start with the district commander and work your way up the chain of command.

Don't waste your time. They tell you to contact the sheriff and he don't do a thing. He has listened to the vfw lies and think we don't know what we are talking about.

County is NOT MOIST - It's DRY. Just CITY is MOIST.

The VFW and Country Club are PRIVATE clubs so it doesn't matter whether city/county are moist/dry/wet. Go back in time----remember when there was always liquor at the VFW and Country Club even when everything was dry here.

It's the selling we are talking about. Selling in a dry county is bootlegging and illegal. Who cares if they are private or not. They are selling and break the law period. Selling to minors is a crime too. Using the term private club is no defense. And besides, when they opened the club up to the public, they are no longer a private club.

Then get off of topix, google the ABC board in Frankfort and report the violations. Reporting it on topix isn't going to stop it.

As I stated, you contact the ABC, they tell you to contact the Sheriffs department, they don't do anything because the sheriff is friends with the guy in charge at the VFW. It needs to be taken to the state or federal level. And don't think I haven't.

There have been bands at the VFW for at least the last 50 years. They haven't opened the doors to the public. You must be a member, a honorary member or a guest. It's always been that way. Has nothing to do with who the sheriff. If you've made a purchase there, go to the ABC and swear out a warrant. Then it will be raided but up and operating the next day. If you haven't made a purchase, you're operating on hearsay and that won't get you a warrant. You say taken care of at the federal level. The VFW is a national organization with over 1.5 million members. They have a lot of influence at the national level.

Yes, they have. When they opened the doors to the public, they are no longer private. All that's going out there are non members. You are in the dark buddy. I know about 200 of them going out there and they never served in the military what so ever. A lot of them are draft dodgers. Don't tell me it's still private. That's a lie.
