Update 3-25 pm

This was posted around 7:30 p.m. on Monday

It's an uplifting feeling to walk into dad's room after having been gone for a while and seeing machines which were hooked up last time I was in here now sitting by the door waiting to be taken away! With the fever under control, they unhooked the cooling blankets. Dad has been awake almost the entire day. He is definitely much more alert. The look in his eyes is much more telling that he is recognizing faces and voices. The kids came over tonight and he really seemed to flash a smile while reaching out his hand to gently grab their own. Dad's color also looks good and we don't need the doctor's analysis this evening to report improvement is visible to us all. Please keep the prayers coming!!

Why can;t people get their entire medical records from Dr. Wm,. Marrs Office instead of just 2 years worth of his notes, not your actural records or copies of Cat scans and MRI's and X Rays. It;s not like he will ever return to doctoring again, People don't let them destroy your RECORDS, Ky Law says they are your records and you have the right to one free copy of All RECORDS Please hurry before they destroy your records.

Don't you think it would have been a good idea to mention this at another time and place? This is one of the most callous posts I've read here on topix in quite some time. Utterly uncalled for regardless of what you think about your health records. Nothing you could say could put you in the right for this ill advised post.

This is from around 8 a.m. on Thursday, 3-28-13

Dad is going to have the ventilator tubes removed and replaced with a temporary trach. This should make him more comfortable and allow his vocal chords/throat to reocver from all the trauma over the past week. Hopefully this is another step towards his recovery. There continue to be no more signs of increased swelling or bleeding. He has had a a persistent fever, but they seem to have it under control.

We are very confident in the doctors and medical team surrounding us! They have been wonderful and their 24 hour care is outstanding! We're very fortunate and appreciate of their care for dad!

Please pray the surgery goes well for him! Thank you!

Why should updates be posted on the "trash" website?

So glad to hear about your dad's improvement. P eaters are with you all. Please tell him a patient of his since I was 16 yrs old says hi and to keep up the fight. He has been there for me so many times. There is not another doctor like him. He cares and shows it.I hope a miracle happens and he is back being the special doc he is. W ish another doc could come in and take over for him and then when he is able he could drop by and consult and do little things to jeep his moral up. T thanks again to the updates. This patient hopes his recovery is great. He has a lot of people behind him.
