Do you people have nothing better to do than worry about others ? Get a life and lets worry about real issues ! Ashamed to live in Glasgow, there are so many backstabbing trouble stirring drug addicts, if your not on meth, its pills. So who are you to critize or comment on others

I believe it is you who are ashamed and worried. Maybe ashamed of a relative or friemd who just cannot seem to get their life together and get off the meth. If it is on the jail's website, it is public information. So just get over it.

LOL, I am not on meth or pills, perhaps you were looking in the mirror? You have no idea who we are, we have a right to discuss the real issue of meth addicts getting off the streets. Seem to me you are defending backstabbing trouble stirring drug addicts!
Im not a meth, pill,or pot user. I love looking in the mirror in fact I stare in the mirror. My point to this is instead of putting the negative information on here, lets but positive information and start forums on HOW to help these drug addicts, and yes you have the freedom of speech on your side but these people have family's that either care, dont care whatever it maybe. They are the real ones effected and it saddens me, and I feel like Glasgow is a a town with a problem with all drugs. That is sad ! Jail is not the issue to th is problem. We as a town need to develope a plan to help addicts, educate and give our citzens , or show them the world. life and love

You are correct bashing helps nobody... and it is a fine line on some discussions but in order to solve problems sometimes we need to talk about it. Putting our head in the sand and pretending like everything is warm and fuzzy isn't going to work out well. Trust me, I know from experience. This is really sad, REALLY! Sad but true, I am sure time will march on and it will work itself out. He made his bed as I have made mine... moving forward is all there is...Learning from it.

Maybe after the election you can go speak to our new mayor, Rhonda Trautman and see if she can get a rehab place started here in Glasgow. Seriously, it's a good idea.

If they are smart they would. I have heard people with that addiction will do anything to get out and use again. Manipulate and do whatever it takes. I have to admit I feel safer knowing a few manufacturers are not cooking tonight. I imagine there is alot of pain that comes with such a situation... What is this world coming to? To the family "May you find the peace, courage, and acceptance for the things you can't change. I hope you rest easy knowing tonight he is safe and clean"
facts:
Basic Facts
Methamphetamine is an addictive stimulant drug that strongly activates certain systems in the brain. Methamphetamine is closely related chemically to amphetamine, but the central nervous system effects of methamphetamine are greater. Both drugs have some medical uses, primarily in the treatment of obesity, but their therapeutic use is extremely limited.

The chemicals or ingredients needed to manufacture methamphetamine are often illegally diverted from legitimate sources. Some of these precursor chemicals include pseudoephedrine (contained in over-the-counter cold medicines), anhydrous ammonia (used primarily as an agricultural fertilizer and industrial refrigerant), and red phosphorus (used in matches).

Methamphetamine comes in more than one form – it can be smoked, snorted, injected, or orally ingested, though smoking has become more common recently. Smoking leads to very fast intake into the brain, which multiplies the user’s potential for addiction and health implications.

Street methamphetamine is referred to by many names, such as “speed,”“meth,” and “chalk.” Methamphetamine hydrochloride, clear chunky crystals resembling ice, which can be inhaled by smoking, is referred to as “ice,”“crank,”“crystal,”“tina, ” and "glass.”

Methamphetamine continues to be widely available in central and southeastern Kentucky. Primary suppliers of methamphetamine are Mexican drug trafficking organizations.(Drug Enforcement Administration, Kentucky State Factsheet, 2009)

According to 2004-2007 data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, approximately 1.03% of persons aged 12 or older in Kentucky reported using methamphetamine within the past year.(Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007)

Results of a 2007 survey of Kentucky students show that approximately 4.7% of 9th graders, 4.9% of 10th graders, 5.2% of 11th graders, and 9.0% of 12th graders reported using methamphetamine at least once during their lifetimes.(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Youth Online: Comprehensive Results, 2008)

I dont really care for the Barry on drugs but the other Barry the sober one was ok. I know very few people who have not been touched by the meth problem in KY. It almost killed me. Pray for him and his family . It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.

Yeah, I know what you mean. You are correct, most have been effected. It has to stop. Our children are being poisoned! Their parents are getting addicted and corrupting them. I personally have seen two children under 10 addicted to meth from their parents trying to appease them while using (not physically witnessed, kids make their way to me sometimes) and parents manufacturing with their kids while minor children are present. It wasn't like that in the 60's. Meth is a whole new ball game. Much worse than what we have seen in our history as a nation. It is scarey. Imagine your brother or mother getting addicted, imagine them converting our youth... Wow! What can we do as a society to stop the insanity?

I think it's too late to do anything. The reason things were different in the 60's and even the 70's is because kids respected authority and their parents then. There were consequences for bad behavior. Parents cared enough to discipline their children and enforce rules and kids didn't get everything they wanted just because they wanted it. Kids had to work and earn money to buy special things. Everyday wasn't Christmas then. Kids not only need discipline and rules; they WANT discipline and rules. It proves to them that their parents care about them. In the 60's and 70's the divorce rate wasn't 50%. Families went to church on Sunday. Teachers were strict and also demanded respect. There's a myriad of differences between then and now that has caused our kids to become what they have which is lazy, disrespectful (not only of others but of themselves as well), irresponsible and out of control. Peer pressure has some play in this but it starts in the home. I've watched 4 year olds curse their parents. I've seen 9 or 10 year olds threaten to call the police if their parents disciplined them. Kids watch CRAP on TV, listen to music with foul language and play video games crammed full of violence. All of this is my opinion but I think kids have gained the upper hand and I don't see any way of getting it back. It's scary times we're living in because these kids are tomorrow's adults and then what's going to become of the good ole' U.S.A.?

i agree with u, i have known him off and on drugs, they r two seperate people, the sober barry would never have dreamed he would be in this situation, neither did i, hope he finds his way back to soberity, it's the only thing that will save his life.
