I don't agree. Facebook is a place to keep up with family and friends we don't see often. It is true some are telling you everything going on in their life, even what they are eating. You can hide those you don't want to read, or ignore what they have written. No one is holding a gun to your head keeping you in Facebook. Many of us like going there. I wouldn't be in there, if I felt the way you do.

Assbook is much better. You just post a picture of your toosh. No one knows who you are unless they have seen your butt before. You can sling poop on everybodys wall.

Hard to tell the difference with some people around here, if they're posting a picture of their face or their ass.

What?! Facebook is for "keeping in touch with" people you don't care enough about to take the time and actually communicate personally with. You know...the guy you knew in school and haven't talked to for 30 years, because you were never really friends; the friend of your cousin's aunt's husband (Hey, he can "like" you and be in your "friends" list, so it'll look like you're popular!)
It's a great way to make your private life public, and to stay in touch with all those people who you don't care enough about to actually devote the time and attention to communicate personally with, while letting Google build a profile of your life, so that they can tailor advertising to you, personally.
It's great! It personalizes things like advertising and the knowledge that faceless corporations and government agencies have of you; while impersonalizing those annoying trivial things, like personal relationships and interpersonal communication.
After all, who wants to be bothered sending a personal email to aunt Betty, with vacation pics, when you can just post it all on the internet for everyone to see, and still feel like a great guy and fulfill your familial obligations, as long as aunt Betty is in your "friends" list?

Heck, some of those people might even like you enough to bother...I mean "entertain" you by sending you texts throughout the day- you know, those wonderful and urgent messages like "Wuz up?" that make you look away from the person you are having a conversation with, to look at your cell phone.

A lot of our relatives are spread out across the United States due to employment, college, etc. Some live close to the ocean because that's what they prefer. Some wanted to live in the big city (New York) because that was their dream from childhood. Some moved up north because of a better opportunity with their employment. It really doesn't matter why people are where they are but it really matters that we can all stay in touch thru a site such as facebook. I enjoy seeing pictures of my sister-in-laws kids and family that I have spent many holidays with but wouldn't call them on a regular basis.

If you don't like facebook and you delete your page I doubt that too many would even miss you. With your attitude they probably didn't communicate with you much in the first place. You people demonize everything and ridicule everything that you don't care for and jump on Topix to air your grievances about another site on the puter that is also about communication.

Admit it...you are on here bitching because that's what you do best and it's facebook today, topix tomorrow, your nagging wife next week and your lazy, cheating husband next month. Y'all live for this shit. You would bitch and moan and groan and cry and whine if Jesus had a site on the computer. You always find something wrong with everything that crosses your path in life because misery really does love company.

We will miss you on facebook...NOT! LMAO

Topix is just trash. I only get on here when my good name and hard work has been run thru the mud by someone who revives not one but three gov assistance checks a month not including the food stamps she stuffs her fat ass with. So, I found this thread while I was passing thru.

Why can't Glasgow let topix die down. I'd like to have a community ban on the entire site! Wonder if that's possible?

Tell me when this thread is updated:
