this organization is really messed up! there are very disrespectful people that are running this program! angie basham to name one. all this league worries about is the cowboys and it is not fair to the other kids on different teams! all parents pay their money for there child to play and should all be treated the same! angie walks around snurling her nose up at people like she is better than everyone! the league president tim basham is a great person but he needs to make sure this league is being ran right! before too long all the parents getting treated wrong will go to glasgow to let there children play! i wish there was someone we could talk to about how this organization is being ran! don't get me wrong the cowboys are a GREAT team! but this league is only worried about that team probaly due to the fact that the ones running the league has a child on this team...the bashams need to step there game up and be fair to ALL!

Now that I have had time to think about this I feel like I need to respond. The Bashams DO NOT run the league by themselves, Timmy is the President but there is 3 other officers and each team is supposed to have 2 board members. Angie is a board member. There are regular board meetings where decisions are voted on....Timmy does not soley run the league. Angie and Timmy's vote counts for 2 out of a possible 12!!!! That is if all the officers and board members show up!!! It is the leagues desire to have all teams equally represented. By the way, all officers and board members are voted "in" by other parents. As far as equipment, uniforms etc.... those type of things are board decisions....so what exactly is not fair....are you just upset with angie or do you have a true complaint.

yes i do have a true complaint! ANGIE is very rude the way she walks around like she is better than someone! as far as TIM he is a very nice guy and i know he doesn't run the league by himself but he is the go to guy...CORRECT? now i didn't start this to get you or anyone elses panties in a wad but there is always someone that will be offended. i respect your opinion on everything that you are saying! i am new to this league and i feel it is ran VERY POORLY!

i agree with really concerned! i am also a first timer to this league and the way i see it people are treated wrong! yes angie does walk around like she is better than everyone! and personally i don't see anything to great about her! and i have been to every practice and our team NEVER voted on the board members! we paid 50 dollars for what???? now they want more money! this is ridicolus! some parents do well to pay the sign up fee!
treated unfair

I ALSO AGREE WITH BOTH PARENTS THAT ARE CONCERNED! I WILL BREAK IT DOWN TO YOU HOW THEY ARE BEING UNFAIR...WHEN OUR RETURNING PLAYERS STARTED PRACTICE..OUR TEAM AND THE BEARS ONLY HAD 10-11 KIDS...WHICH IS NO ONES FAULT...THE TITANS AND THE COWBOYS HAD ALMOST A FULL TEAM WHICH IS FINE...SO TIM EXPLAINS TO US THAT THE DRAFT WOULD GO AS FOLOWS...THE BEARS WOULD GET THE 1ST PICK BECAUSE THEY WERE THE UNDERDOGS WHICH IS RIGHT...THEN OUR TEAM...THE PART I FEEL IS UNFAIR IF THERE WERE 2 TEAMS THAT WAS SO SHORT OF PLAYERS WHY DIDN'T THESE 2 TEAMS GET TO PICK UNTIL THEY CAUGHT UP THEN LET THE FULL TEAMS PICK? I'LL TELL YOU WHY...THE COWBOYS WERE TO SCARED THAT ONE OF THE UNDERDAG TEAMS WOULD CHOOSE BETTER PLAYERS AN THEY MGIHT HAVE COMPETITION...NOW IF TIM'S SON WAS ON ONE OF THE SHORT TEAMS I GUARANTEE YOU IT WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN...THE SHORT TEAMS WOULD HAVE CAUGHT UP THEN THE FULL TEAMS WOULD PICK! THIS LEAGUE IS VERY SORRY AND THE PRESIDENT IS ONLY WORRIED ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY COWBOYS! I DIDN'T PAY MY MONEY TO SUPPORT HIS SON'S TEAM! AND HIS FAT ASS WIFE IS IN CHARGE OF CHEERLEADING AND SHE MADE SURE HER SO CALLED FRIENDS DAUGHTERS MADE THE COWBOY TEAM! THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKED AND I WILL BE GLAD WHEN THEY ARE OUT OF THIS LEAGUE!! GO RAIDERS!

as far as the draft goes there are set guidelines that have to be followed that are a part of the leagues by-laws....each team picks for 4 rounds starting with the 4th place team and them the teams that are short pick until they catch up. It is not the cowboys decision...PROCEDURE IS SPELLED OUT IN THE LEAGUE BY-LAWS!!!! AS far as the Cowboys go...they picked all young players...all JV....I KNOW....I WAS AT THE DRAFT!!!!! If you look at the the cowboys jv team you will see that they have NO advantage. All of their Varsity players are returning players. Also...about the $50 to play, BCLL is far less expensive than other leagues, check around! That money goes for a variety of things....insurance, marking the field, equipment which is very expensive...go ahead and check the price on helmets, mouthpieces, chinstraps, 7 piece pad sets, shoulder pads, practice pants....YOU COULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT ALL THAT FOR $50!!!! Yeah, I realize we are asking each team to do a fund raiser to help pay for new helmets but have to seen what pitiful shape most of the equipment is in.....most of the equipment has not been replaced in years and is worn out. I have just mentioned players equipment...what about blocking dumbies...sleds....that all teams use. Also, part of that 50 is to pay for end of the year trophies for ALL PLAYERS and cheerleaders. There is a lot of expence that most people dont realize. Yes we charge to get into games...most of that money is used to pay the referees....who are licensed and are quite expensive. The concession stand does a little better than break even by the time we pay teenagers to work and use that money to buy equipment that is also old and worn out such as coffee makers, microwaves and various other cooking and kitchen wares. We strive to have enough money in the bank at the end of one season to start the next season with which is
about $1000 which is the approximate cost to pay our insurance each season....our league does not make a profit. As you said, you are new to the league so you are not aware of how bad of shape the equipment had gotten into when the new officers took over last season...it has been their priority to raise money to relace worn out equipment with new, safer equipment. PLEASE GET THE FACTS BEFORE YOU PASS JUDGMENT. As far as Angies friends children being cowboy cheerleaders, I dont know who you are talking about...i do know that one of her closest friends daugher is a Titan cheerleader.
With all of that said...if you have any suggestions on how to better run this league please speak up, just remember there are rules, guidelines, by-laws that you seem to be unaware of we must adhere to.
By the way, Chrytal Blakely is one of the Raiders Board Members, I belive the other board members son aged out so the raiders need to elect another one to take her place...If they (the Raiders) want equal representation at the board meetings but that is up to the Raiders coaches and parents NOT THE LEAGUE OFFICERS.

Now I remember why we stayed out of sports for 2 years, now we are back in football and was really hoping that the parents would be a little more concerned about the kids and not all about themselves and who is a bitch or not. Who cares if Angie thinks she is better than everyone else. Be there for your kids and let her act how she wants. Amazed how many things parents ruin for their own children.

there were too many problems with volunters...we tried that....most of the time it ended up one of the officers or board members having to work in the concession stand when a parent didnt show up. Furthermore, we now have to have a food license and are inspected by the health dept (bet you didnt know that) anyway voluteers are frequently not as concerned with keeping things clean as a paid employee...a teenager that actually wants to work because they need\want the money. Believe me, they dont make much for what they have to do, they stock the cooler, prepare the food, wash the dishes, take out the trash along with waiting on customers. They have to be there at least 30 minutes before games start to start the food and are usually one of the last to leave the field because they have to clean every night. The kids know that if they dont work to meet expectations they wont be paid or asked to work agian. Yes, I knwo what you are thinking...that adults are more responsible than teenage kids...most of the time that is true however, you wouldnt believe the problems we have run into in dealing with some adults. By the way, Little League baseball pays teenagers to work as well...for the same reasons.

one more thing...the decision to pay teenagers to work was not that of one person, the idea was presented at a board meeting last year, it was voted on and obviously it passed....just another example of how major decisons for the league are made by a group of people not just one.

basham had the idea of the parents coming up with the fundraiser, that is suppose to be his job. he is to lazy to scratch his own butt let along be president of the league!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like an excuse to me but, what do I know? I've only been in little league for the past 15 or so years, including concessions and board membership. During that time, I have never known of any positions within the little league that were paid. Obviously, we are talking about two different leagues, one successful and one struggling. Oh, and I'm aware of the licensure, as well. However, that doesn't stop your paid employees from adjusting their ponytail, serving a hotdog, and handling money without once washing their hands in the process. Keep making your excuses and taking money from our teams!
