I spent 22 months in a jungle in Southeast Asia fighting so you, your parents and probably your grandparents would have rights. If I want to go to the V.F.W. post and set down and have a cold beer while talking with other soldiers that have seen combat, That is my right. Just like your its right to bitch about it.The way I look at it though, If you were laying beside me in a flooded rice patty trying to keep your nose just high enough out of the water to keep from getting a bullet in your head , you might just look at it a little different. War is hell anyway you look at it. Think I will go have a cold beer..........Yep, at the V.F.W. Over and out
Boy O boy ,Them M-16's were not very effective wet , I sure do remember that. Fellow soldier, I have walked in your boots. Most people don't know how active duty can affect a person in a foreign country where you could not tell the enemy from allies. This thread started over a simple question about a band. Ended up trying to take away the only place a war-scarred vet can relate with a small group of people that know your pain of being ordered to do things to other human beings that most people never even dream about. We will take this to our grave. It is sad that some people try to take away things from us(vets) that may be a kind of healing place for soldiers. The old vet is right. Lay in that water watching the death of your friends and taking the life of someone else's friend and family member. It was tough people. Give us just a little break , PLEASE! Thank you

Learn to read dude. It was stated in previous post, that it has nothing to do with the Veterans drinking. It's them letting non veterans (guest) come in an buy it. People who have never been service. Which it is illegal to sell in a dry county.

Mind your own business and let the VFW do what they want.

I personally think if they want to sell beer to pay their bills at the VFW thats fine.I drink a beer occasionally when I go out there. So you people need to leave them alone. They done it for years and thats the way it is and should be.A little drink is not going to hurt anything so mind your own business and if you dont like that dont go there.Im tired of you do-gooders complaining about alcohol when you go out on Saturday night and get drunk and then attend church Sunday morning like nothing has happened. Shame on you.

Alright.. If people want to show their appreciation to American war heroes with a donation what's the big deal?? If there's a little drink poured for you it's only right to donate anyway to help out are there signs hanging up advertising prices of drinks? Is there someone waiting for you at the door if you don't "pay up" do you get bills and tickets like in a bar or restaurant? No! Get over it bunch of whiners!! Start your own organization and accept donations or do something worthy enough with your life to be able to belong to one!

They need to not worry what goes on at the VFW its private anyway. Not everyone can see you drink. This is a bunch of people that hide and drink because they are church people.Go get your vodka and your pills and show us how you usually are.

You are not a Veteran Billy. You have never served in any armed forces or been in any services. If you have a member card, then you have fraud the club and it's against the law. You could go to jail for the fraud.

Sound likes someone is admitting to smoking. I wonder what. I think they need to do a drug screen on you where you work Billy.

Our place offers veterans a home away from home for them to talk about how things were and how they are today.Sometimes they will have a drink or two and I see nothing wrong with that.

I know people who have bought beer out there. So don't say you are not selling it. I know of 25 people who have bought out there. They are all non veterans. Never served the country one bit. They go out and buy like crazy. Should I quote some names.

VFW is for Veterans of Foreign Wars. If this is the one that works at Travelers, you have not been in any service at all.
