Any veteran, who served their country in combat, is allowed to invite their family and friends into their club to have a few drinks. Where the hell do you people think we're living; under Taliban rule or something? These are the people who fought and lost buddies so you could sleep peacefully tonight.

Veteran of Foreign Wars. Must have served in a foreign war. Also has a provision for people who served in Korea at certain times. And, yes they should be allowed to have a club where they and invited friends can go and have a few drinks. They've earned that right. The VFW club has been serving alcohol in Glasgow for over 50 years, it's not going to stop now no matter how many bible thumpers get their panties in a wad. Glasgow, for all its faults, is a pro-military community and we support our veterans.

Seriously, it's time for the cops to do something? They do, they go out and have a few drinks when they're off duty.

I spent 22 months in a jungle in Southeast Asia fighting so you, your parents and probably your grandparents would have rights. If I want to go to the V.F.W. post and set down and have a cold beer while talking with other soldiers that have seen combat, That is my right. Just like your its right to bitch about it.The way I look at it though, If you were laying beside me in a flooded rice patty trying to keep your nose just high enough out of the water to keep from getting a bullet in your head , you might just look at it a little different. War is hell anyway you look at it. Think I will go have a cold beer..........Yep, at the V.F.W. Over and out

Go ahead, but I'll give you some free advice. By feds, I take it you mean the FBI. They'll refer you to the state alcohol beverage control who'll tell you that unless you've brought something from there and are willing to swear out a warrant, your rumours are meaningless. If you have brought something and swear out a warrant to that effect, they'll raid the place in a month or two. Unless the club has been tipped off that they're coming, they'll arrest the person behind the bar, who'll be out on bond in a hour, and confiscate all the alcohol. The club will restock the next day and be open that night. The person charged with bootlegging will pay a fine, which the club will pay. I've seen it happen to many times. So go right ahead.

what is the sorry shame--you all are bitchin about booze-- I have a real reason to take up with the"club"..It is suppose to be for vets and families--family memeber came back from tour in asia-- went to the vfw-- proudly became a member-so he could related to guys who knew what he had been thru..paid his dues, etc..well the powers that be didnt bother to send in paperwork--surprise surprise!! after some nasty stuff came up out there, he finds out he's not in "good standing".. The VFW has a good national name.. so sad, Glasgow cant stand proud , they are a disgrace to those still serving..if there are any good ones out there.. clean the trash out. and have a cold one for me..

I know of 15 people that go out there and buy it. They are not rumors - nice try.

Then get one of those 15 people to go to the ABC and swear out a warrant that they bought alcohol there. After the process I described occurs, the club will still be going strong and that person will be barred for life from ever entering the club again as his name will be released on the warrant. These are veterans who've fought and had buddies die for this country. You don't think they're gonna let some bible thumper stop them from enjoying a cold beer in their own club, do you?

Quit Selling it. You are breaking the law by being in a dry county.

I have always supported our veterans. I have family members that are vets and I am proud to be an american and live in a country that these men and women have fought for but being a veteran does not give you a right to break the law.

Quit selling it? Nope, not gonna happen. Get your panties out of a wad and find some other cause to rant about. Go feed the hungry. Get some angels off the tree for Xmas. Go visit some senior citizens. Make yourself useful if you want to thump that bible but get off the vets back.

You are illegally selling it out there. It's time for this to stop. I hope someone has the guts to do something about it. I'll find someone.
You are nothing but a trouble-making pussy. So you're going to "find someone who has the guts to do something about it"? What about you, chicken shit? If you're so gung-ho on shutting this place down then take care of it yourself, you big wimp. You need to mind your own business and quit meddling. I don't know why you care if they're serving liquor at the VFW. It's not hurting you, is it? Surely there are more important things that you can get your panties in a wad about. Leave the veterans alone. If it weren't for them you wouldn't be living in a free country, nitwit. Go find somebody/something else to bitch about.

Sounds to me like you just admitted doing it. You condemned yourself now.

They have admitted to selling alcohol. They are in the dry county. This warrants some arrest.

I don't work there. I've never sold alcohol. Even if I told you I did buy alcohol there, it'd be hearsay on your part. The person who buys it has to swear to that they did, then a warrant will be issued and law enforcement would be allowed in to search. This is America, hearsay is not allowed in a court of law. Doesn't sound like you'd be allowed in to find out for yourself.
