Rude? I have known him for 35 years and has never been rude to me or anybody I know. The only time I have ever had to wait very long was when something was happening with another patient. Are you sure you are talking about Dr. Marrs?

Dr. Marrs is one of the most caring doctors in Glasgow. He has always been very good to our family and was always there when we needed him. Can't believe anyone would say anything bad about him. He does not have a rude bone in his body. We need more caring people like him in the medical community.

According to the Ky Board of Dentistry, there is not a dentist by the name of Marrs in the state. There is a medical doctor by that name in Glasgow. Not sure what dentist you are confusing with Dr Marrs.

Yes Dr Marrs is/was a very good/caring doctor. However; now after being a patient of his for 44 years, I am dissapointed in the way his practice has changed. He finally got rid of Paula Nadale Haines (she moved) and things were looking up. His ARNP Kim Kennedy was at first appearing caring and intelligent. Then she and Dr Gibbs divorced and she still isn't over it. Bores me to death to listen to "her" personal life. She is soo negative. Maria Marrs never smiles and acts as if it kills her to even talk to you on the phone. See, it's like when you are sick and they finally either agree with you and work you in -- you are treated and feel as if you are aggravating them by being there. It's not like I'm seeking drugs or don't have insurance or frequent the premises or am a hypochondriac. Anyhow, when I'm sick with cold or virus, I know I'm going to feel like I'm imposing as well. I always hope Amy answers. She's great! Nell, she needs to retire. She acts worse than Paula did. She is nosy about personal life, could care less about the reason you are there. Enjoys bashing Kim behind her back. It's a shame!

I am hoping you regret making these comments. This was not the place to be sounding off. We are fortunate to have this Dr. office! Too bad you didn't know better.

Makes me think you know some of these people personally in order to have so much info about their life. I certainly don't know everyone in my Dr's office by name and I certainly don't know one thing about any of them outside the office.

If that is not the case, then it is my opinion that staff shouldn't be airing their dirty laundry in front of the patients.

She is complaining about waiting an hour and a half to see the doctor for a virus. That is the reason why doctors offices get backed up. All the medicaid using dolts run in the office or ER for the slightest problem because there is no co-pay or deductible. They demand anti-biotics and pain killers for the common cold and act like they are dying.

Don't get me started on people who run to the doc for things they could easily treat at home. People are taking too many antibiotics for viruses and colds. Then they are going to get something for which they need an antibiotic and the antibiotic is not going to work....duh. Wonder why we have all these antibiotic resistant infections.

If someone is on Medicaid, it is cheaper for them to see a doc and pay their measly $2 co pay than to go to Walmart and get some OTC med. Big problem with Medicaid imo.

When I was doing my under-grad schooling, I worked at a physicians office. This was a while ago, but it seems as though things have not changed. The medicaid clan would call up and demand to be seen that day or threaten to go to the ER or turn the office in for discrimination. We would end up having to over book which would put the doctor behind schedule. When they came in they were so over dramatic and would pound on the window every ten minutes asking when they were going to be seen. If they didn't feel it was fast enough they would leave and go to the ER, where they would start the same crap. At the time, if you had medicaid you had to have an okay from your primary doctor to be seen (this has changed, and there is no restriction now). I would explain to the ER that they got impatient waiting and we would not give an okay to be seen. The patient would then just sign a statement saying they were aware that they may be held financially responsible for the charges. Of course they would never pay.

I hear ya Maggie. I used to work in a doctors office too and the 3 docs in this practice quit taking medicaid a few years ago. Hmm--wonder why--reasons you described above for starters.

Please don't throw everyone that has medicaid into the same group and say that "all the medicaid clan" act a certain way. My son and I have medicaid and we do not act like that at all. I try to be polite to everyone I speak with whether it's at the doctors office, grocery store,or just a stranger on the street. I am disabled and yes I mean really disabled. I am a quadriplegic and I can't get a job so I need medicaid and so does my son. I would much rather be able to work and pay for our health needs but simply can't afford it. So, just remember that if someone has medicaid doesn't mean they act like a wild animal and some people really do need it.
