So I am completely addicted to the AMC series The Walking Dead. Watched the new episode last night and can't wait again until this coming Sunday :) I'm hoping that there may be some Glasgow followers here that can discuss the series with me. None of my friends seem to like the show. :^(

I watch it devoutly lol. Last night's show was both gloriously amazing as well as a bit irritating. It left me with soo many questions!

Im wondering why Rick is seeing and hearing the ghost of his wife?? In the third season of this show him and Laurie were very distant with each other in my opinion and even once talked about how if things weren't so messed up w/ civilization that they would get a divorce but then Laurie dies during childbirth and all the sudden Rick is going crazy, seeing things, having fake telephone conversations and losing his mind. If it were that bad that I spent 9 months w/ my husband knowing that if things were different I would be talking to a divorce lawyer I certainly wouldn't be acting that way if he suddenly passed away. I know that sounds horrible but 9 months is quite a while to dislike someone and to let that grow into hate. I can completely understand losing someone regardless of your like or dislike for them would be difficult in that kind of situation (zombies and all) but to flip out and not consider your children or the other people you still have with you seems a bit much.

I think his hallucinations of his wife are a mixture of grief, stress, and guilt. Given the high stress of the situation he's in, plus trying to lead the whole group, and his love for her regardless of his anger toward her before her death and the guilt over the actual death have just taxed him to the breaking point. He basically killed his best friend because she told him to- and then she got mad at him for doing it- inciting his rage towards her. Then she dies and he realizes how much he loved her still, and never told her even though she was trying to make amends. Now he's raising a baby in that world that might belong to his dead best friend. Then there's the fact that had he killed the prisoner instead of locking him out with the zombies Lori would still be alive- meaning his split second decision costed her life- I think he's just snapped under the weight of it all. I think at this point Carl is the only reason he keeps going.

Yep, I think you're absolutely right. Rick has definitely been through hell. I believe truthfully that the baby is shane's. What gets me is why didnt laurie stop to think she could get pregnant? Not to get crude here but the pull out method isnt reliable. Im sure Shane would have went in search of condoms had she ask him. Its like she didnt care. And being someone who has had 3 c-section I for one would have most assuredly used something to prevent pregnancy. Especially in a world w/ very few doctors or nurses. She was irresponsible there. And how long did she wait after hearing from Shane that Rick was probably dead did Laurie sleep with Shane???? Given the timeline in the very first season I'm thinking less than a couple months....if that. Who does that anyway? If my husband passed away I'd be destroyed far longer than that.

Read the comic book, you'll find out all the answers. The show follows it very loosely but the comic is much better story wise.

I was a tgif fan. Every friday evening was time to relax, unwind, and forget my troubles for the weekend. Now I only have a few shows. The walking dead on sundays is my all time fav although once its over im reminded that monday is rearing its ugly head. Tuesday night is face off which is another I'm slowing learning to enjoy and sons of anarchy when it's on. And of course there's true blood. I was following that series when it was only a book :) I wish they would make laurell k hamiltons anita blake series for tv. She is amazing! I highly recommend her to any and all readers out there.

My husband wants a zombie apocalypse to happen. After watching the walking dead it makes you think. I would miss ice and electricity. I still think what they decided in dawn of the dead was smart. Hide out in a mall w/ its own grocery store and plenty of entertainment :)

Is like Lori if she hadn't of jumped on Shane as soon as she thought her husband died. That was sorry. And then told Shane even if it was his child it wasn't going to be? That's messed up!!! She laid down and had sex with him she needs to grow up and let that man be a daddy. But I don't guess that's a choice now since they both died.
But I do miss dale!
But I would like to know when everything went down with the governor durin the arena nd Daryl and Merle got out who was the "walker" that looked out of the door for a little bit? That was kind of weird!!
I'm a Daryl fan! He's strong, & cocky with a good side & doesn't mind getting his hands dirty! Rick is stressed to the Max, I like him also. I believe he loved Lori but she hurt him. So he's got the weight of keeping his son and that baby and the rest of the group alive and the thought of his dead cheating wife and killing his best friend Shane, they keep loosing people their group won't make it if they keep loosing members! A person can only take so much until they break down. And the group is turning in to drama, arguing over the silliest things. I don't understand why they are killing living people, that haven't gotten bitten. That's an extra hand to help fight off the "walkers" I understand that's more people to feed.. but GEEZ there all going crazy and trying to kill each other when they all just need to get along and fight!!!

I think the writers & producers are trying to keep the show as close to realistic as they can. For instance, the living dead walk slow. Now I know we've all seen them shuffling along pretty fast at times but they certainly didnt run with super human speed like in the remake of dawn of the dead and day of the dead. These are more george Romero zombies. And then you have citizens, people who aren't infected fighting each other, killing each other. In this world there is the possibility and almost guarantee that an individual will eventually go crazy, maybe not permanently if they're lucky...however maybe being crazy is better. My husband & I discuss it often. Would you kill your enemies? If this happened would any of you kill the people you hate? The people you dislike? Obviously, if they are zombies to save yourself definitely....but what if they werent? Would you spare them or destroy them as fast as you would a zombie? Im curious. I didnt see the zombie looking out the window! Will have to re-watch that last episode. I want to know how Daryl can walk away from the group so easily? And is it me or does he have feelings for Carol?

He looked out of like a cracked door from the fighting arena when Daryl and Merle took off.. and yes I believe Daryl and carol had feelings for each other or they just felt sorry for each other! BC carol lost her daughter and she turned into a zombie and Daryls brother was left behind, I'm not sure! But carol needs a good man that doesn't mistreat her, she has no one now.. Daryl has Merle now, rick has Carl and the baby, Glenn has maggie, and so on.. I love that Daryl is bad@ss with a sweet side! Its so sweet!! Lol the more I watch the reruns the more things I notice that I've missed!!! Lol and what your saying about killing your enemy... I don't think no one will know if they will do that until their in that position... if they had turned in to a zombie I say I would! Because that's when you have to start thinking about yourself and the rest of your group! If you don't kill it, it could kill one of ur group memebers and then their ull be, wishing that you would have killed the zombie in the first place.. and so an so would still be alive!!
