I have been in this community for a few years now and have never seen a program as backward as the city league here.It seems like every year there are different problems and money issues always seem to arise. I was wondering whats going on and who's in charge of this mess?

If you don't like the Glasgow Little League... you can always sighn up for Barren County Little League. They have great football and baseball programs. They would love to have you.

I head that Glasgow Baseball wasn't sanctioned this year. Barren County does have GREAT programs, and they do believe in practicing.

I agree I have been very displeased with Glasgow Little League program. I really hate to see my kids opportunities limited because the program lacks leadership and control. The ones with money and fit into the right "clique" are the ones in control and everyone else, reguadless of talent is just a** out! The whole pragram needs revampng starting with the top all the way down to the people they let coach the kids.

John Mousier is the President and yes, it is poorly run, but until someone gets fed up with it being run this way nothing will change. I think the city rec dept. should take it over before it is history.

Does anyone know who the football coaches will be this year? I have heard two or three of the coaches from last year are not coaching this year because their children are older.

For the record any problems that the glasgow little leagues has had, pale in comparison to county leagues! My children have been in both and by far the city is much better run, the children are actually coached by the coaches, and the rules are actually followed most of the time.

My children learned more in one season at glasgow, than at any times in the three years before with the county.
I promise you have not seen anything until you go to a county league game and see how awful the parents act! I have seen parents cuss coaches, umpires, and children!(and nobody cares)I saw a parent get thrown out, then announce that he was going to get his gun! He then went and got that gun! Nothing was ever done because the next time we played that team that man was still their cussing everybody like a sailor!

In the county football league after the third game of the season, I saw a child and his parent complain because they didnt like the team that he was on, The parent went to his buddies on the board and the next week this kid was moved to a different team! PLAIN AND SIMPLE THIS KIND OF FAVORTISM IS WRONG!!! Guess what, the county is full of it!

Trust me the money situations are not any better in the county either.

I have seen these things and many more incidents like this first hand. So you might not like John but I can tell you it is a lot worse in other places!

It's obvious you guys have no idea how much it takes to run a Little League program. These guys don't get paid a dime!!!

I certainly think the league is a bit chaotic and unorganized at times, but unlesss I (or you) or willing to spend about 25 hours a week 'volunterring" for this job, I don't think we should complain.

I have no complaints with Glasgow Little League. My son has played football for three years and baseball two years. I am very thankful that we have people willing to take time to work with our children. I know very little about any sports so if it was left up to me my son would be left out. Most of the coaches help parents by giving rides to children who can't there due to their parents working, which is above and beyond in my opinion.

THESE parents complain around there kids and act a fool in front of them thats why they have no respect for coaches board and other adults then you wonder why the little league middle school and high school is so poorly runned because nobody cares and they wonder why the program is down;Nobody has nothing good to say if you not going to stand up then shut up.

The people bitching about the little league are the ones who run thier mouth and were told to shut the hell up!Glasgow youth sports will not tolerate any misconduct from anyone, coaches ,parents players. So before you go running of at the mouth have your stuff together! As far as money how is it in bad shape! You say it's bad explain..if not shut the hell up!
We volunteer way more than 25 hrs We even take out own money and invest in the team so if you wanna chip in your more than welcome too.We gladly except donations at any time!Your beef with the head of the league should be taken up face to face if you have the hair on your ass to do it!

I seem to recall each parent of the child playing does invest each time their child plays unless we are the only parents paying $50 and up for a $10 shirt and hat. Also supporting the tournaments by paying to get in each time and buying food and drinks the entire weekend. We have also had to give other teamates rides to and from practices and games b/c no one else would. I do not think everyone in the league is an absolute loss there are a few good coaches and umps there, but the program as a whole is totally screwed up and it becomes more evident than ever when the kids transition to jr. high and high school. Unfortunately, we see the results in the teams that have come up together through the GLL. The GLL is only the start of the problems, it progresses all the way through to the high school sports leagues. We moved here from another county and we never had any problems like we have experienced in GLL. Around here it is all about who you are and who you know, not based on talent and skill. Believe me I wish we were not stuck here but b/c of job-related circumstances we are. It kills me to see some of these talented young atheletes having to contend with this political BS and wasting time and effort and possibly their futures in this.

Im not bitching just stating my opinion and others as well. I have volunteered for the league and donated money also. I state money problems from the league because I was told the couldn't afford to put the childrens names on the back of jerseys and there were score board problems that went un fixed almost the entire season. I like alot of the coaches there and umps as well but I have my fair share of hair on my ass and grew more as this season of atheletics has come to a close. It seems like if your last name is one of ten names in this area then you're treated a little more "Special" than others. All I want is an even playing ground for everyone based on the childs talent and not the parents status.BC or Caverna will definitely be an option.

so you assumed! you didn't ask the little league president..So you just decided to get on here and bash everyone.People like you don't need to volunteer ,talking like that.I guess you didn't have the hair on your ass to go ask them yourself.

sorry i skipped a few lines..but still.you should have asked the president...I am highly involved in sports and know alot of your answers but i'm not the one too tell you.ask the president. The scoreboard this was due to someone stole the boxes that controled it and they had to be ordered.costing a hell of alot of money!

my child has not been in BC league but was in Glasgow. I cant complain about the coach we had, he did a super job. I will say I noticed some not so nice moments (by the other coaches) and I am sure those are in every league everywhere.

I will say this in my opion BC's high school sports are getting better were as Glasgow's seems to be declining....i am wondering if this is because the "who you are in Glasgow" matters more than if your a good player? Or is it that the county league is teaching and being ran better than Glasgow's?
