No, we didn't and that's why I want to encourage people to do so at the time of the incident. We respected our mothers wishes and did not pursue her situation.

I just hate it that my mama had to suffer and be crippled in her last years and to be mocked by the doctor that crippled her when he recorded that her progress was great when she came to see him. He wouldn't sign a prescription for her to get one of the hand operated scooters to get around in. He told mom it would make her lazy and she would never heal but of course he didn't want any proof that she was crippled or that he crippled her. One of us always accompanied mom to the doctor but she insisted that we wait in the waiting room as she was "still in her right mind" and could go to the doctor by herself. She only let us in on the doctors lies spoken into the recorder and the refusal to help her get a scooter just shortly before she died.

I did go to his office to see him after my mom died and was told he wasn't available to speak to me because of privacy laws. I just stopped trying to get a reason as to why he treated my mom so badly when all she wanted was to get better now that the accidental cutting of the sciatic nerve had eventually played a part in her death.

My mom hit the tree toward the end of her driveway at less than 20 miles an hour going downhill and it was like hitting a concrete wall. The doctors at the trauma center said that her "numb" leg was broken in 150 plus pieces. Mom was in shock but talked to the doctors and firefighters. She talked to her sisters and one son and her grandson before they flew her by helicopter to Louisville. She talked to the nurses at University Hospital when they were getting her out of the helicopter. Her brain started swelling and bleeding before they got her to a room to start working on her so the rest of us kids didn't get to say goodbye. She died 09-09-09. I know I have said more than most want to hear but it feels so good to talk about mama and I thank you for listening.

Whoever was appointed the administrator of your mother's estate has the right to talk to the Doctor and to get copies of all her medical records. That person will have to provide a copy of the court document appointing them administrator to the Doctor's office.

We did that last year and he had to turn over the records to us. His records stated that mom had some sciatic nerve damage that healed within 6 months of the initial damage. So mom was right. He just talked and bragged about her recovery into the recorder to cover up his mistakes. Sometimes I want to dig deep and see if maybe someone else could be spared from this doctor and his bedside manner but he is a prominent doctor here and I don't have the money to fight him and make him at least admit he was the cause of her injury and covered it up to keep himself from getting sued for negligence. Mom never wanted to sue him. She just wanted him to help her get better. Hindsight is 20/20. I just encourage others to not make the same mistakes we made that allow these incompetent doctors to stay in business and keep their so-called reputation in tact in order to make more money off their patients that they harm due to negligence.

I have cried a flood of guilty tears as I remember these things and hopefully someone can learn from my mistakes and it will save them from going through any thing like this.

You can file a complaint with the Medical Licensure Board. There is no charge for you doing that. You will have to complete some paperwork and give a written account of what happened. One of the investigators for the Board will review this and they will take action if they determine doctor was negligent or erred in treatment.

most people trust their doctors with their lives and litterly will do ANYTHING that dr. tells them to do. on the same hand most dr.s care for their patients and have competent staff taking care of their patients.however, when we discover a pattern of mistakes we need to ban together and expose the facility these patterns are occurring at.as patients we feel intimidated by questioning or confronting our dr.,we consider them so much larger than ourselves.we must learn to stand up for ourselves and our families or our mothers fathers sisters and brothers will be like some of the posts, unable to defend themselves.

A very close friend of mine's brother died last year after his doc said he had a weird heart beat but being he was young. only 33. the doc said it was prob nothin to worry with and sent him on his way. 2 months later, they found him dead in his house. so sad when you trust your doc to know and then you die.

I live in Dayton, Ohio, and this same thing happened to me. I found this online when I was doing some research. I think I want to sue the hospital/nurse that did this too me. My leg is still numb after 5 months. I had an EMG test after I found out what had happened, and that was fine. Then I got an epidrual steroid injection, got rid of the pain in the leg, but not in my behind, and my leg still tingles badly. Also, it irritated the nerve at the base and now my other leg hurts. My doctor wants to give me another epidural for the pain in my other leg. And I think he's a bit confused over my whole situation. Frankly, I don't know what to do. Any advice?

"FRIEND"- I am pretty sure i know exactly who u r referring to about a friend's bro dying after a doc visit. I am friends w her too and that is exactly what happened. after they said he had a strange heart beat, they sent him on his way tellin him it was not big deal, and 2 months later he died of a massive heart attack in his apt. He had been there for a day before he was found. the friend u r talkin about is her name kacie? I am betting it is. such a tragic thing for that family. i know it has took a tole on her losin her only sibling. i used to wish i was as close as her and her bro to my bro. so sad to see 2 siblins love each other so much and then sumthng like that happen. esp since most ppl these days claim they cant stand their bros and sis. my heart breaks for her.

I have been "living" with sciatic nerve damage for about 9 years now. My leg goes numb and I fall. It feels like my ankle is broken sometimes even though it really isn't. I have 2 herniated discs in my back, 1 in my neck, Osteoporosis, chronic migraines that cause me to lose my vision they are so bad at times...and have been turned down for SS disability 3 times. Go figure. I have had no income and have been unable to work for 8 years and ss turned me down because there was a 2 year stretch that I couldn't afford to go to the doctor or hospital. My (adult) kids pay my bills so I wont be homeless. I can only afford to go to the doctor when absolutely necessary. I worked and paid taxes for 35 years before my health went downhill. My government, that took taxes from my paycheck every week, refuses to help me but sends our tax dollars to other countries so their people can get medical help. Go figure.
I know I got a little off subject but thanks for letting me vent.
Who is the attorney we see on commercials all the time around here? I'm not coming out with a name. He sounds like he might be able to help you get your disability. Would he be in Bowling Green? He isn't local. I wouldn't give up.

My neice Megan was given a shot out there a few months ago and has had trouble with her hip and right leg since.I`ve told my sister she needs to take her to another doctor.Maybe after she reads these comments she will change her mind. They told her some of the shots hurt worse than others. I hope you all are serious!
