A guy named Frank Johnson worked there and stole so much stuff from them. Scrap metal and everything he could get his hands on. He always tried to get a guy John to help him but he never did. Hope this guy isnt still working there. I have heard so much about him. He is a home wrecker, child abuser and straight up piece of trash

My husband was an owner-operator for Walbert for over three years, an owner-operator for over 20. He is a very dedicated, professional driver who has respect for his profession and himself. He represents his employers to the highest degree, from his equipment, to his paperwork, to his appearance. He is the first to admit that all drivers run illegal at times and that things happen in dispatch that requires that they ask for "favors" from drivers in order to get the job done on rare occassion. The "favors" to run illegal were a daily part of doing business at Walbert, he was threatened with his job if he didn't run and threatened with his job from "Safety" if he did do it. When he occassionally needed an advance for repairs he was charged usury rates (10% for two weeks) for the use of his own $1500.00 security fund. At the point of suicide because of them he started refusing to run illegally and he was rewarded by getting fewer miles which resulted in the loss of his incentive pay. After losing his 2100 mile weekly dedicated run because of refusing to run illegal to cover another load he quit. The load was final and now he is being charged for fuel taxes from the first quarter and load retrieval and trailer retrieval for a load that was complete. He did everything by the book and is being penalized at every turn.
I have a business degree and ran my own business for almost two decades, I treated all of my employees from student interns to senior citizens with the same respect that I would want, "THE GOLDEN RULE", ever heard of it JON WALBERT?, NO, your favorite rule is "F" Him. Your employees are the foundation of your business' success and even though Walbert gives this lipservice and says that they know how important their employees are, their actions say a completely different thing.
No one really needs to do or say anything, Walbert will pay in lots of ways, all because of their own doing.
I hope that all drivers will stand up for themselves, everyone deserves dignity.
Yep, lady everything you said is true about them. I got a strong feeling that the DOT is fixing to take them down a few notches. I was and owner operator there too and same treatment for me as well, if i got to sleep more than 4 hours in a 30 hour timeframe it would been a miracle. Then on top of that when you getting the measly sleep, the dam dispatchers are calling your cell phone and want to make a "check" call at 2 in the morning. They also have to have some of the DUMBEST dispatchers in trucking as well. I thought its kinda sad, a few weeks back they had Tom Walbert on 13 news doing a news segment on the accidents on i65, which to me looked like and advertisment for drivers and lord and behold the next week after that aired they had a ad in glasgow times, bg daily news, and even at the unemployment office, that they was hiring owner operators because they was expanding. Expanding my A$$, just new blood to fill in for the people that quit them. Being and owner operator for them is more like being slave labor in a concentration camp. Hopefully when this CSA 2010 regulations go into effect, drivers with good safety records will have the good since to steer clear of this company. Hopefully the CSA 2010 will deter Walbert from running people like that. I am surprised that they not having more fatal accidents than what they are, guess some of the drivers must be on some good "go Fast medicine". Also have to watch your paycheck like a hawk too, from unauthorized deductions to just plain not paying you for something you did.

hehe a eight yr old truck is new equipment for walbert. You should seem equipment they used to run yrs ago. Example 18 yr old truck and trailers. When u pull upon the dot scales the driveshaft or transmission fall out on the ground. They trucks they have now is supernice compared to back then.

My husband worked there for a short time. In that time we realized they treat their employees like shit. They messed up his check twice. They tried to take a truck repair they hadnt done out because they didnt approve it but also wouldnt fix it. Dispatch is ridiculous. No one knows what is going on. Different dispatchers would call all hours of the day and night asking him to do different things when he had already been assigned something. Sat in texas for a total of 4 days with no load. They rarely fixed anything with the truck. He really tried to stick it out but they treat everyone like garbage.

He gave his 2 week notice and the boss called SCEEAMING at him about how unproffesional it was not to bring the problems to his attention. They were always trying to make him drive illegally and he was sick of it. They ran him like a dog the first week following his notice. Then the second week no one would call so he called around and couldn't get a load. Come to find out they had already reassigned his truck and had bagged all of his stuff and put it in the shop. The man at tge shop was screaming and cussing and didnt want to give him his property. That was the most disgusting display of "professionalism" i have ever seen. Glad he found a new and better job with a company that has better benefits, equal pay, and knows how to treat their drivers. Walbert is a hot damn mess.
