best contractors,hvac, plumbers and electricians?

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A HOME IN GLASGOW AND WILL BE MOVING HERE PERMANENTLY. THE HOME I HAVE PURCHASED IS IN NEED OF REMODELING. (STUCK IN THE 50'S). I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD GIVE ME ANY IDEAS ABOUT WHO I SHOULD DO BUSINESS WITH OR WHO I SHOULD AVOID.

Botts Construction does good remodeling work.
Botts Plumbing is a very good plumber.
Billy Joe James is a very good electrician.
If you use HVAC Services get their cost estimate in writing - a lot of people complain that they are high.

Earl Wood is a wonderful electrician and a very nice and christian man. He is located near midstate recycling

I'd be more concerned with licensed, bonded, and skilled / qualified before I was at all concerned if he was a christian or not.

He is very skilled and everything else he has been in the business for years and I do not really think I asked for your opinion to begin with huh? He is my uncle and he is very skilled and very good at his job. I wouldn't want some devil worshipper comng and working at my house
and alot of people prefer christian people to help them I know I would.

A lot will depend if you want a "high end" contractor or a "low end one". Some of the "low end" ones actually do good work.

This is a public forum and you don't need to be invited to make comments on anything posted here. If you don't want to open up what you say to commentary, then don't day anything. Easy enough.

If he's your uncle, then you have some bias. That doesn't mean he's not good. He probably is. But is he licensed and bonded?

Also, there are lot more religious beliefs out there in between "christian" and "devil worshipper". What if the electrician were Jewish? Or Hindu? Or Buddhist? And I won't even ask what if they were Muslim, as I am sure I know the answer to that. Or agnostic? Or atheist?

You can pick 'em how you want. But when I'm looking for a specific set of skills, religious belief is one of the last things I am concerned about.

THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION. I HAVE BEEN ASKING OTHER PEOPLE IN GLASGOW THEIR OPINION AND I KEEP GETTING THE SAME ANSWERS. BOTTS CONSTRUCTION, HVAC SERVICES, AND BOTTS PLUMBING SEEM TO COME UP THE MOST. ARE THE BOTTS COMPANIES RELATED OR OWNED BY THE SAME PEOPLE OR NO RELATION AT ALL?

I have paid Botts plumbing a lot of money, and its O.K., except he usually sends out a 7.00/hr flunky to do the work. On the other hand, David Mercer is a second generation master plumber who gave up using "helpers" years ago, and does the work himself. For wiring I recommend Ricky Burch (Richard O in phone book) Jason Harper of Harper's HVAC will save you some money.

They are second cousins and Jerry & Joey usually use Botts Plumbing and Foster Electric.

harold nuckols contractor can't be beat for quality or price thomas neal good reasonable plumber jason harper hvac no question there botts any of them do decent work but are high like hvac services either way they all need to be licensed and insured good luck

we had HVAC put in our home this year. Jason Harper put it in. I have never had any one do work for us that also cleaned up after themselves. Great job! Great price!

Melvin Ooten is THE best hands down. We used him to re-model our house and he did an excellent job. He's a good person too - not out to cut corners or cheat anyone.

Jason Harper also did mine. They did a great job and I am very pleased with the unit. The unit also has the best warrantee (spell) in the business.

Whatever you do, stay the hell away from David and Jerry Jessie - two brothers that do general contracting work. Sorry I can't give more details. But you've been warned.

Everyone on here is stating their opinion and trying to help out. Earl Wood is a fine person and good at his job. I've known Earl for a long time. Just wanted to throw that in.

Could NOT be happier with Melvin Ooten. He is currently heading up my home building project. He is easy to deal with and knows the job. Very experienced. He pulls in the BEST people to do various work. I was dreading this whole project but the project has turned into a pleasant experience. Melvin Ooten is the reason.

Say "NO" to Kevin Gardner. He charged me $250 to fix a leak in my roof and it still leaked. He never came back. We had to pay someone else to fix it.

Melvin Ooten is great. good guy not a cheater and very reasonable rates. FYI, Melvin worked for Botts for years, was their most asked for builder. He then went out on his own.
HVAC, I have had good luck with West Main HVAC.
Used to use HVAC but way too expensive.
For general repair work, laying floors and other things, George Harlow.

Do not let Larry Todd anywhere near your house. He is a crook.
