I was told he could be made to pay child support, but not much.Is this right, I don't see how, He don't draw much, maybe alittle over 600 a month, and I do not want to make it hard on him,I am not that type of person.Well if anyone knows about this kind of thing please comment.I DON'T WANT to see him homeless because of paying me child support.

Yes, he should pay child support. It is his child not ours (the taxpayers). We are already supporting him and he is probably better able to work than most of us hardworkers.

Believe this or not but my kids DO NOT GET A CHECK and i don't know why!I have tried to call social security office and they won't even talk to me,they just say not at this time(and he's been drawing this for 8 years)What that means i don't have a clue.Yes my ex is disabled and deserves what little he gets,he worked all his life and got hurt on the job, has had 5 surgeries since then, some people truly are disabled and need it,and he has definetly paid in for what little he receives!I just did not want to see them take everything from him for child support. He does and will take care of his kids, but anyway, If anyone knows what i could do to get my kids a check i would appreciate it,I know something is not right about that, they are teenagers and they sure could benefit from it.Dale Burchett or his daughter said at the beginning my kids would not draw and she would not comment any further about that. What can I Do about gettting my kids a check i don't know,I can't afford a lawyer.

My son could not draw off his dad when his dad drew a check. I have earned enough in my life & i draw SSD. My son draws a check off me. It depends what they draw and what they earned in their lifetime. Go apply at social security is all i can say. Dale Burchett & daughter should have been able to tell you if your children were eligable. If they are, they are entitled to back pay also.

I don't think the burchetts even tried to get my kids some help, they probably wanted more money, to get my kids a check.they just worked on my ex's disability.

If you are disabled and have never worked or have worked and become disabled, but have not earned the required credits, you can draw SSI(supplement security income),although there are other criteria that must be met(Such as money you have in the bank, etc). However your dependents "do not" draw a check.

If you have worked and have earned enough credits you are eligible for SSDI(social security disability insurance) and your dependments draw a percentage of pay also.

To clarify on the pay for dependents if you draw SSDI. They must be your children and of a certain age. (certain criteria must be met here also)

Burchett would get a pecentage of the back pay is all. They should have automatically applied for the children.

do the kids draw off of their fathers check and get a part of his check or do they get their own check and it don't come 'out' of the fathers check..for instance-when child reaches 18-will dad get a bigger check now that child doesn't draw

SSA administers two disability programs, Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Social Security disability benefits are an earned benefit. Workers pay Social Security taxes into the system and earn work credits based on how much they earn. If a person becomes disabled they may be eligible to receive benefits based on their earnings.

SSI is a federal program that makes monthly payments to people with disabilities who have limited income and assets. The program is administered by the Social Security Administration, but the payments are financed by the general revenue funds, not from Social Security taxes.

There are no SSI benefit provisions for a spouse and dependent children.

They will base it on his income. Yes he still has to pay child support.

The kids have their own entitlement on top of what the father draws. When they turn 18, the father will continue to draw the same amount.
