Maybe you daughter needs to go and see a lawyer, or call the Labor Relations Board at Frankfort. But if she has already used her alloted FMLA time, usually 6 months, she may not have a leg to stand on.

I was employed by a company in california that told me it was ok to take time off as long as you put in a time off request and/or had PTO (paid time off). I was terminated due to my attendence even though I told them when I would not be at work. I worked for over 3 years, made over 20,000 each year and paid my taxes (including the un-employment tax. Why shouldn't I be entitled to receiving any un-employment?

Please step off of your high horse for a moment so you can read the reply I have for you. I am about to explain how there are many more reasons other than laziness that could result in an employee being fired for attendance. There are many many companies that have a no tolerance policy on missing work. Let's just say this person was Married with 2 children. Her husband was diagnosed with cancer and she had to be by his side for aid while he goes through that horrific time in his life. However the company does not have a system set up where she is able to take off in case of an emergency like this so she gets fired because of it. This is one example of thousands that happen each and every day. So next time before you write your high and mighty BS, you should stop, take a moment to think about all the angles and also try and put yourself in someone else shoes. Not everyone is out to get something for nothing.

Truly yours,

I was fired because I did a loan for one person who quailed but it was over the amount allowed for one house hold. But at the same time policies are not always followed at this place. For instance each Board member is to be elected by the members but each one has been appointed by one are the other board member. So if they don't follow the rules then why should I get in trouble . Also I have been there 11 years and have been accused of several things which I did not do. We each have our own login in and password for our computers but numerous times my computer was used by someone other than me.

If you have worked all your life and are down on ur luck and get fired over poor attendance...you have paid in for lazy asses that all they do is work the minumal weeks and then collect. If you been at a job for a length of time who is to say ur not obligated to UI for poor attendance. You earned it!

You can apply if your fired BUT the company that you work for can protest it. It then goes into review. So the answer is you can if the company won't protest and win.
Well i got fired and the company did protest it, but eventually i was given unemployment. It just tookfive or six weeks to get it smh. But boy was I happy when i got it, they had to give me retro pay

We need a FEDERAL labor law that requires a company to give EVERY employee the same benefits; if the CEO gets 6 months of paid sick leave the janitor should as well!

Yes, you can. You can draw unemployment if you are fired or lose your job for any reason. Employers can fight it, but usually you will always win.

No. It should go by time in and yes, higher ranking employees should get better perks. If your job requires more dedication than mopping floors you deserve to be compensated better for your work. If janitors got the same treatment as anyone else, why would anyone strive to do better? They would all be janitors! Many people strive to do good at a job and move up for the benefits. Or they will go to college for the benefits.

Learn the facts before you type please. The only way you can get benefits is if you ARE fired. I flipped out on my boss when she fired me for NO reason, i collected 4 weeks of unemployment. Mainly has to he "no fault of your own" when you are FIRED, NOT QUIT.

Unemployment is nothing but well-fare. How can anyone with ambition or who has anything survive on it? Habitually employed are the only ones. They will have no more today than they will in ten tens years. Total drag on America. No better than illegal aliens. Of course, the illegals do work.
