Need Help

#1 Sep 14, 2008
Okay, I need some serious advice..and yes I'm going to consult a doctor, obvously, but I want some other opinions too..

I'm twenty four years old and have pretty much a flat chest. I really want to get a breast augmentation, however I dont know if I should wait till I have kids. When you watch the Discovery Channel and Extreme Makeover, they never tell you about those kinds of things..so I was wondering what your opinions were. I really would like them done now..or asap. I just dont know what to do. I'm not concerned about breast feeding later in life..it's more of the sagging issue..which I believe you do anyway? lol
So please just give me your opinions. Thanks =)

I am a mom and I have implants. I was an "A" before children and after two children I was a small "B". I suggest that you wait until after children since you don't know how your body will change. I got my implants when my last child was 9yrs old and my breasts started pointing the wrong direction. I only went up one size to regain firmness and I am extremely pleased. I used Dr. Atalla in Bowling Green.

I have implants also and I got mine after I had children. My friend has them and she got them before she had her children. She breast fed and had no problems with them at all. I say go for it.

If God had have wanted you to have big boobs you would have them ... I think a woman with a flat chest is as sexy as a woman with big boobs as long as she is natural ... Like the old saying goes ,,, more than a mouthful is a waste ,,,

So she hasn't had a problem with them sagging?

Dr. Atalla is the best. He did surgery on me and also repaired my daughter after an accident. I highly recommend him as a plastic surgeon.

I worked for an Boards Certified Plastic Surgeon. Please make sure that that are board certified. Also, please don't let them say bigger is better. You don't want to look fake. You want them to appear natural. Ask the doctor if he is going to put the implant under the muscle, because it should be. Alot of doctors put the implant throught the nipple where some doctors make an incision underneath the breast in the fold, which is ok, but the incision in the nipple makes the nipple appear very defined. Also ask the doctor to see pictures of his work... If his very proud of his work and if he does a good job he will have lots of pictures for you to see how good of a job he does. Ask about recovery time and how often you'll have to come back in to see him so the the implants don't become "stuck" in one place. As far a breast feeding w/ implants I had no luck due to the sinsitivity of the nipples from the surgery. To each his own. NeeD TO decide normal saline or silicone. Now that silicone is safer I would probably do silicone since it is more natural looking. The most important thing in to interview your DOCTOR. make him think you know exactly what you are talking about. Buy a couple of bras , different sizes and take them with you to the office. the should have severeal different sized of implants that you can try on in each bra. That should help you decide on a size. Smooth, round implants are best I beieve 360-390 cc is a good "C" cup. Good LUCK. Painful as hell

This is something I'm intested in doing after I lose the weight I need to lose. My girls are already pointing the wrong direction and I'll need a 36 long after I lose weight!:) I don't really want my girls bigger but not droopy. I'm 41 so I don't want it to be obvious and I'm not trying to "regain my youth". I just don't want them dragging the ground.:) How does that work? Same procedure? How about cost? Any info will be appreciated! Thanks.

I have been flat chested all of my life, even after having 3 children. Dr. Tim Hulsey from B.G. did mine. I am pleased with them. When I told him I just wanted SOME and not big, he listened. It has only been a couple of months now since the surgery, but I finally feel like I look like a woman. I went from a A cup to a C - still trying to get used to the running boards though!!

I had mine done before I had children, and I would recommend waiting until after you have kids. I went from small B to a small D. When I became pregnant my breasts grew and grew and grew. I had no problems with breastfeeding, but once that was done my breasts do sag somewhat because of how large they were. Of course, everybody is different and you may not have that problem. If you want implants I would definitely recommend them, but only if you really want them.

Dr. Atalla did mine after kids. Went under the muscle with a small implant just to fill me out and give me some lift. They look soooo natural and I am so happy. I have never been so comfortable with a doctor in my life. He also did a tummy tuck on me that was perfect! Never been happier. Both procedures were done 3yrs ago and were under $9000 added together...might be higher now.

Yes, I got a moderate profile, saline. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I got 400cc, went from A/B cup to full D.
Dr. Atalla did a wonderful job, recovery was easy.(I have a good tolerance for pain, though.)
I wouldn't change a thing. It's been four months now.
As for children, I don't plan on having any in the next five years. Implants usually have to be replaced after 8 years. So if you plan on waiting a few years to have children, go ahead.
My consultation with Dr. Atalla answered every question and concern I had. I was so excited I scheduled my surgery that day. Haven't had a doubt since...

you will need to get in contract and have a consiltaion with a board certified plastic surgeon. Depeneding on what insurance you have, you may have to go throught several months of going to a chiropractor, order a special bra to help reduce the shoulder grooving. The doctor will then take pictures after you have done everything and submit them to the insurance company for approval.. Be Aware, if you smoke you need to stop, IMMEDIATELY.... Because smoking can lead to decreased oxygen consumption by the breast tissue and the tissue can die and leave huge discusting holes that have to be packed just like a would debridement. Make sure that the doctor has before and after pictrues for you to see and make sure that you wait till after kids just for the chance you should wnt to breast feed, which would be impossible after a reduction. A reduction can can chancge your life and make you a new woman. GOOD LUCK>>> Loose the weight first, because you may want the tummy tuck while you are going for the GOLD>...
