Bluegrass, hands down! Bluegrass has pretty much all of central KY covered with 3G. No other carrier in this area has that much 3G coverage. AT&T's coverage is good, but Bluegrass has them beat. As far as pricing goes, you will pay a little more for a good phone with Bluegrass, but the rate plans are cheaper than AT&T's. AT&T more heavily subsidizes the cost of their phones so they cost less, but you end up paying more for the rate plans. One advantage AT&T has over Bluegrass is you can use any GSM phone on their network by inserting your SIM card. Bluegrass will only activate phones they sell or have sold in the past, so compatible unlocked CDMA phones are out of the question.

Also must consider if you travel a lot and especially if you travel out of the country. If you only stay around this area, I'd definitely go with bluegrass.

we have bluegrass. I am very happy. We went with the data package and tether option so it doubles as my home internet.

I love it. I haven't had any service issues and I don't have to worry about the high cost of local internet services.

We dont travel much. Louisville is out of their coverage area but you still have service you just use your extra minutes.. I have never gone over.

Stay away from Sprint if you live in the county very bad spotty service at best, alot of droped calls and dead spots.
In the city Sprint works fantastic, never a problem.
I have Sprint due to living at Ft. Campbell and never had an issue when I lived there with Sprint, but here it's a different story.

I have bluegrass, and i'm not impressed. When I'm out of state it won't let me make calls or check my voicemail, so i just leave it at home now. And even here in Barren county, there are frequent dropped calls. Especially in southeast barren county and northern metcalfe county. Sadly, I'm looking for better and can't seem to find much. I had heard at&t worked well here, but others say no...

Bluegrass has the best plans and probably the best coverage. What they do not have is the best phones :( High prices, poor selection.

Bluesgrass cutomer service is NOT good anymore :( Waited 4 months to get phone repaired, they had no loaner phones and then phone comes back not fixed, my screen protector taken off and screen scratched up. Have multiple accounts and have had recent billing problems, especially after renewing.

Iwireless has better prices on phones, good plans , no contract BUT service is spotty. txt works ok but not talk.

If you are not traveling and need good coverage in remote areas, Bluegrass.

3G coverage in Glasgow - Bluegrass
3G/4G coverage in Bowling Green - AT&T

If you want the best customer support, latest phone technology (GSM), or plan on doing international travel, AT&T.

As one has stated, Bluegrass is great, but their selection of "latest model" phones is deplorable. And, you are absolutely NOT allowed to buy a CDMA phone from another source (eBay, Amazon, etc.) and use it on Bluegrass's network. That REALLY sucks.

On another note, I've had some good, and some VERY bad walk-in service from Bluegrass. They (like a lot of cell phone companies) have an attitude of "all our customers are idiots and should be treated as such".

I use ATT which serves me well as I travel a lot. But I do not have service in all areas locally. I have relatives in the Dry Fork/Fountain Run area and I can't get service in those areas from ATT. My relatives have BG and have service.

AT&T nor Sprint has 3G Data speeds in Glasgow. Bluegrass has Glasgow as well as most of the county covered with 3G speeds. I live out in Hiseville and have 3G. Several of my friends complain of dead spots in the county with AT&T. AT&T does not have 4G in Bowling Green. They probably sell 4G phones, but it does not work without 4G technology in place. Bluegrass recently released news that they are going to 4G soon. Bluegrass also has cool phones now like the HTC Desire and Motorola Milestone X which is basically the Droid X for Verizon.

Bluegrass sells second hand phones. You might get a months use out of them I had service for approximately 4 month's with bluegrass had several dropped call's that is when my phone worked I basically lived at their customer service desk and missed several lunch break's because of their phones and none works on Bluetooth when I did try Bluetooth it would lock up phone. Fair warning stay away unless you like long customer service line's and meeting new friends while in line.

I travel all over the country and have excellent service with Bluegrass. Maybe your phone is locked on HOME AREA ONLY.

bluegrass cellular works better in this area because it has a tower at mt.hermon I had cellular one for 7 years worked fair in the area i lived. i moved to glasgow and for 3 years i could not get service with cellular one unless i was in the city limits of glasgow. went to bluegrass nationwide and i have traveled the country great service. unless i am in some low valley or one part of the barren lake i have no trouble. but the most cell phones experience that. for me bluegrass is for me. you are right about the lines as much as you pay for cell phones and the bill you should be able to walk in and get service right then.
