Full slate of candidates for election

Three candidates filed for the office of Glasgow mayor incumbent Darrell Pickett, city council member Rhonda Trautman and local resident David Williams. The mayoral race is a non-partisan election.
Republican incumbent Davie Greer and Democratic candidate Barney Jones, former Barren County sheriff, both filed for the office of Barren County judge-executive.
For the office of Barren County sheriff, two Democrats, current sheriff, Chris Eaton, and Howard Garrison, a Glasgow Police Department officer, are the only candidates who filed.
Four candidates filed for Barren County Jailer Democrats Matt Mutter, who is serving as current jailer, Mike Gibbons and William Bowles, and Republican Robert Wing.
Republican incumbent Joanne London will face Democrat Bobby Hurt in the November election for Barren County clerk.
Races for the seven magistrate districts on the Barren County Fiscal Court, 12 seats for the Glasgow City Council and seven Barren County Constable posts had multiple filings for most positions.
In the fiscal courts District 1, three Democrats are running for the seat including incumbent Carlie Coe Jr., Dewayne Decker and John Benningfield. Incumbent Republican Rickey Spillman will meet Democrat Walter Mansfield in November in District 2. Incumbent Republican Carl Dickerson will be challenged by Democrat Gala Clay for the District 3 seat. In District 4, three Democratic candidates, incumbent Tommy Matthews, Charles Watkins and Larry Mauk will be on the primary ballot. Republican incumbent Howard Bowman Jr. will run against fellow Republican Brandin Bartley and Democrats Gary Gillon, Jim Haynes and Mike Jones for the District 5 seat. In District 6, Democratic challenger Chris Steward will be up against Democratic incumbent Charles Allen. Democratic incumbent Billy Houchens will face two fellow Democrats, Albert Dilley and Mike Bull, in District 7.
There will be 17 candidates running for seats on the Glasgow City Council. Eleven incumbents, Jimmy Ferrell, Jeanne Scalise, Jim Marion, Freddie Norris, Doug Isenberg, Harold Armstrong, Linda Wells,Happy Neal, Marlin Witcher, Brad Groce and Tim Stutler will face an additional six challengers, Wendell Honeycutt, Joe Trigg, former councilman William Webb, David Irwin, Michael Richey and Stacy Hammer in the non-partisan November election.
Sixteen constable candidates will vie for the seven positions. Democrats Wendell L. Houchens and Tommy Firkins will face each other in District 1. Republican Lonnie Skaggs and Democrats J.D. Glass and Tony Oliver will run in District 2. In District 3, Democrats Mark T. Oliver, Roy Chapman and Rex D. Harlow are candidates. Democrat Charles Shaw will run unopposed in District 4. Two Democrats, Gary Thomas and Carroll Foster will face off in District 5. In District 6, Democrats Terrill Riley and Steve Jolly will meet. Three Democratic candidates, Buddy Houchens, Darrell Coffey and Timothy Trulock will run against each other in District 7.
Incumbents Jeff Sharp, Republican candidate for Barren County attorney; Democrat Brad Bailey, Barren County property valuation administrator; Democrat Joe Houchens, Barren County surveyor; and Democrat Michael Swift, Barren County coroner, will run unopposed in the November general election.
London said there will be a drawing for ballot positions for any races in the May primary that have more than one candidate for a given political party. The drawing will be conducted at 2 pm. Thursday in the county clerks office.
